Movies that might have been made, but weren't, but maybe should have . . .

I don't know how many of them are out there, but here's a couple that occur-ed to me:

In the extras, on the Conan the Barbarian DVD, it is explained that Oliver Stone wrote the initial draft of the movie. It was a very elaborate fantasy film that would have required special effects way beyond their budget or the technology available at the time. I think seeing that script filmed anew would be interesting.

Another, would have been the original Return of the Jedi idea of Endor being a planet of Wookies, not Ewoks. Perhaps the overly cutesy nature of that film (which I enjoy, I was a kid when it came out) would have been avoided for a darker film in the nature of Empire.
