The film and the music seems to have been totally abandoned. The music didn't even show up on the Later Years Pink Floyd box.

I've never heard the music. Does it just totally suck or something?

Not the same thing, of course, but there are good unofficial versions of Tobe Hooper and Wayne Bell’s score (soundscape might be a more accurate description) circulating around the Internet. I don’t know if the source is a direct recording from a copy of the film, but that is likely. An unofficial copy of Hooper and Bell’s music for Eaten Alive also floats around the web (definitely sourced from a home video copy).

Rob Cohen's "A Small Circle of Friends" (1980) featured a score by Jim Steinman. There was a music and effects track on the laserdisc release that wasn't included on the DVD. Early instrumental variations of Steinman songs.

I've read this. I have an mp3 version taken from the film so I guess that'll have to do ..... unless someone somewhere has the tapes in their attic........and they'll probably appear
    after I've kicked the bucket.

I'd love to see the release of the soundtrack to the great Don Siegel film Charley Varrick. Great film, great soundtrack. It's classic 70s Lalo Schifrin that's never seen the light of day aside from a couple of tracks on a Lalo Schifrin anthology.

Yes, you're right, there's a CD out with various scores I forgot about when posting. Still, there's much more in the film - combined with some of the film's deliciously weird dialogue, we'd have a killer soundtrack album!

I seem to recall Don Ellis made soundtracks for both this and the sequel, as well as some Burt Reynolds detective/L.A. movie, as his only 3 contributions for Hollywood. Would love to have soundtracks from those other two, in addition to that!

I went out after posting that and looked to see if it still was hard to get. Turns out someone just pressed it on cd last year. I went out and bought a copy.

Definitely want to check out that Burt Reynolds movie soundtrack

And on this note, I'd like to see the Jem soundtrack released, both the score and the songs.

The French Connection Collection CD arrived this afternoon. It is very comprehensive and apparently limited to 2000 copies. I would suggest anyone who is a fan of the movie or score to get a copy.

Turns out there was even a Popeye Doyle Tv show, that never made it past the pilot. Scored by Brad Fiedel of all people. All of which is included on the second cd.

    INCLUDING!
Everybody Gets To Go To The Moon
The Supremes-like song from the first film.

The Keep. There's been some music released by Tangerine Dream but a lot of the music that actually was in the film itself has never been released.
