I was shocked when I heard Hey Jude playing in the movie Coming Home (1978)! What are other movies with Beatles songs on the soundtrack? (excluding the movies they star in :p )

IIRC, "Roll Over Beethoven" plays in the background during the "high school reunion in Smallville" scene in "Superman III."

'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' used The Beatles' version of 'Twist & Shout'

The movie, I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND has a bunch from "Meet the Beatles" and "Introducing the Beatles".

The movie, CAN'T BUY ME LOVE. The song is obvious.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps was used in Withnail & I and even makes a VERY rare appearance (for an original Beatles song) on the soundtrack album as George granted permission.

I think we're looking for movies that feature actual Beatles recordings.

IIRC the producers wanted to use the real thing, but ran into so many road blocks, they opted to use covers. IMHO it turned out to be an interesting soundtrack with a few very good cover versions.

It actually got Capitol to release the single for the first time, as it was originally released on the Tollie label in the US.

David, didn't Capitol issue this as a Starline 45 (6061) in October of '65?

"Once Upon A Time In America" uses "Yesterday". It's been awhile since I've seen it, and I can't remember the exact scene.

"Testament" has "All My Loving" playing from a transistor radio as the mother thinks back on her recently deceased daughter. It's a touching scene.

I like the scene in "Rain Man" with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise talking about when they used to sing "I Saw Her Standing There" as kids. This one doesn't exactly fit in this thread, though.

I don't know why I remember this, but the 1993 movie remake of "Lassie" features "In My Life".
