Mr. Inbetween on FX

    I think you are right. I never bought that Barry was a murdering psychopath with skills. The actor never pulled it off, Barry always came off as weak and uninspired. The portrayal of Ray was much darker and scarier.

    I never felt Barry engaging as the character or felt any authenticity.

    Oops, 3 years late getting to Mr. Inbetween, and happily binged on Season 1 last night, so I can't read too much of this thread until I catch up.

    I got the tip accidentally from a Sydney Morning Herald feature which apparently is his first major interview:

    Nearing 50, Scott Ryan was driving taxis and delivering pizzas in Echuca. Fast forward a few years and the world can’t get enough of his cult suburban crime series, Mr Inbetween. As the reclusive Melbourne screenwriter with a remarkable life story explains, things don’t tend to fall in his lap.

    It is a great mini-series of 3 seasons and many shows could learn from that economy of episodes. And a perfect ending!
