Apparently coming as a BNC, so I'm gonna pass on that one.

    $150 for Thad...no thanks

Further evidence that the secondary market is in a downtrend.

  6. Also Our Man in Paris and Out to Lunch. Pretty steep prices, but those are all some absolute killer records.

  7. Hopefully they don’t botch it like they did Blues Walk :hide:

Why were some titles like Roll Call not done at 33? I wish these could be done now (at reasonable retail prices)

Out to lunch has been regularly going for under $150 on discogs. Just a heads up

With the amount of distortion going on...

That’s interesting. I just got the BNC yesterday. Washed it, played it and didn’t hear any distortion at all. It is a pretty good pressing other than a few ticks on Autumne Nocturne. Maybe setup issues?

I’m going to retract my previous statement. I just sat down to listen to it again (was making dinner last night when I first listened to it) and I am hearing some distortion at the end of Play Ray on the conga.

I really wish MMJ would find some copies of Mode for Joe in that magical couch of theirs.

I picked up Thad Jones and Eric Dolphy. Missed out on Dexter, and since I placed my order it looks like Thad is now gone.

The couch giveth and taketh away.

I reckon someone might have bought a chunk of stock on some of these new couch finds.

I was ready to pull the trigger on the Eric Dolphy, the Thad Jones and the Paul Chambers after just missing out on the Grant Green and the Dexter Gordon titles - I would have taken all 5 if I'd spotted the restock sooner (yes, I'm a sucker for these releases! :righton:)

I had the 3 titles that were left in my basket. When I hit the place order button the screen refreshed and the Eric Dolphy and the Thad Jones and were gone.

I checked what the stocks were like before ordering. Paul Chambers was, and still is, showing 9 copies. The other 2 were showing 20 copies each.

Less than a minute later, both lots of 20 were gone, so I expect we may see a glut of these on eBay/Discogs soon - perhaps offered by Jazz Savant??

Ah well, it was the Grant Green and Dexter Gordon titles that I really wanted anyhow. I'll save my money.

    Soothsayer too.

I'm sure Empyrean Isles will eventually come out on BNC, but man I'd love to hav the fancy pants MMJ cover treatment to go with it

The SRX sounds pretty fine to my ears. Anyone do a comparison?

Would rather have the 2x45 of Solid than my SRX, but despite the heads-up here on the couch find... long gone pecan.

BTW, this title is at $49.95, still!?!? Sitting in boxes behind the couch... until they're all gone, or until they're crushed by Uncle Ron* crashin' down for the night behind the couch.

    * No Uncle Ron's were harmed in pre-morteming this scenario. (Personally, I'm a big fan of Uncle Ron's and will couch duel to the death to defend his honour.)

Curious if anyone knows the cardboard thickness used in these MMJ gatefold jackets. I'm looking for a measurement number as to the actual cardstock.
