Thanks for the explanation. I tend to agree with the editorial content as well.

It's relevant for any number of recent discussions here, not only regarding the MM Blue Notes, but also the Blue Note 75 reissues, other related jazz reissues (e.g., word around here is that the new Original Jazz Classics, OJC, vinyl reissues are from digital sources, rather than straight from the tape like the older OJCs) and, for example, the new Led Zeppelin reissues and the Capitol "from the vault" series of rock reissues.....

    I agree...
I have brought this issue up on other threads but the hatchet men were lying in wait for me. For me what is more odious about this reissue bizness is the labels who intentionally mislead buyers about their sources and lack any transparency about what they are doing.

Thanks for posting that review of Music Matters new reissue of Maiden Voyage.

I wasn't going to buy it, as I already have the 45 RPM Quality Records reissue.

Based on that review, how can I resist?

Ron and the folks at Music Matters sure know what they are doing.

Yeah I also have the AP 45rpm and must confess it is quite underwhelming as far as 45s go. Too bad I have to wait till whenever it comes out to buy this 33rpm. Too bad I just can't drive down to Greg Simmons' house and hear the the TP. Guess I'll make do with the AP 45 till...

+1 on Out to Lunch. As it is, I can't even find the 75th version right now, it seems out of stock everywhere.

The 45 rpm version is still available on Music Matters' site.

Out to Lunch is actually listed as out-of-stock on their site, but if you send them an email asking for a copy, they may have one for you. This is how I managed to get a copy a few weeks ago. And it's a killer!

I just looked a few minutes ago and it was listed as in stock.

good choice and please add for me:
    Horace Silver - Tokyo Blues
Hank Mobley - No Room for Squares

...and for all the guys who are looking for an incredible album and cover; Grant Green - Matador I agree that MM re-release this album again on 33rpm... I'm happy that I have 2 copies on 45rpm but I definitely buy a 33rpm as well...

I notice the review refers to the MM 33 RPM re-issue of Maiden Voyage as 2014... Now, given MM have already announced their 12 titles for the year.... I wonder if we have a nice surprise in store at the end of the year? I hope so.

To honor Horace Silver's memory, I ordered yesterday the MM 45 rpm of "Cape Verdean Blues" and "Song for my Father." I suppose they shoud sound great, but any opinion audio-wise is welcomed.

It is my feeling though that one of them will be part of the MM 33 rpm series to come.

11:25 am (EET) here. And the new Ella Epitaph SACD plays. Sounds wonderful. But this belongs to another thread.

Song For My Father was or is one of my favorite MM albums; great music and a fantastic sound on 45rpm.
I'll choose this one above the Cape Verdean Blues (which is indeed also great!)

Son for my father is great.
    I purchased 34 45rpm titles a few moths ago.
I asked Ron to add anything he would consider a must have. He recomended 5 titles, being Song for my father one of them.

On November they will likely announce the list of new titles and ask for current subscriptions extension to current subscribers.

On a mobile device? All titles are listed as in stock. On the main website, it is OOS. They gotta fix that.

    That was Lori's response.
It seems it will be just after the current 12 announced titles (that is my guess).
