When I was working I'd be all over albums like these, no brainer. Now that I'm retired it's a whole different ballgame. And that's OK, you make trade offs. Work and buy expensive albums or don't work and don't buy expensive albums.

I have to say, even with a decent job spending almost $1K on 10 LPs is a bit extravagant.

You have a point there. I was lucky and had a good job, no wife, grown kids so I could indulge.

They are one per household. But we've seen scalpers trying to order to 5 different addresses with different names (same credit card, comes in at the same time). It just slows down fulfillment and delivery.

If hopes were were horses we’d all be riding.

I also hope they get more copies

can you work part time and buy a few expensive records?

I’m not quite retired but it’s on the horizon.

I’ve been selling off discs I never listen to and old equipment that has nothing to do. That funded lots of MMJ titles.

and I can tell my wife I am embracing her “simplification” movement.

If you'll pardon the commentary, I believe the original saying is: "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride." Meaning, if wishing could make things happen, then even the most destitute people would have everything they wanted.* I like the way you've made it your own.

Only last week I came across a derivation of this expression in Terrance McKenna's True Hallucinations, in which Terrance modified it to: [[A] world in which] "horses are wishes and everyone gets to ride."

There is another version that starts: "If wishes were fishes ..." but I'm trying to stay on topic.

I haven't tried Telefunken. My phono pre uses 4 12ax7 qnd 4 12au7 which means a considerable outlay. Perhaps one day I will answer that siren call. As my listening companion says, do it now, just tell the kids their inheritance is tied up in the stereo. Ha ha.

    It's:

"If wishes were horses than dreamers would ride",

which my golf buddy transmorgraphied to

"If wishes were horses we'd all be riding"

which I adapted for my own purposes here, "If hopes were horses...."

    Nice catch!

Or,work, save, inherit, retire and realize that all your money is probably going to health care, taxes, and long term care. Hmmm.. I think I'll order every MMJ that's left in stock...now.

In your 3 examples, the MM’s are WAY more significant/crown jewel/just plain better than their TP counterparts :p

What goes up faster? MMJ’s or healthcare? Just trying to plan ahead. Maybe current purchasers won’t tell their children the value of these records since they don’t want their wives to find out how much every single half hour of tunes costs.

Was there ever any backstory given on the reappearance of The Procrastinator? Was it more copies pressed (like the Blue Train SRX) or just some they found in a box in the back from the original run?

They are New Old Stock. Ron had set aside a number of complete sets from the original runs. As he breaks some of them apart, there are certain titles that will come back in stock for just a handful or two of quantity. There's no schedule or indication of which titles will be available when.

Yes apparently it was a subtle attempt to stop people from procrastinating so they would make the damn purchases already ...
