Topper Headon Dee Dee Ramone spent some time bouncing between transient motels in Royal Oak and Ann Arbor, Mi in the early 90's. The guy in one of the "Decline of Western Civilization" doc's that lived in a cupboard.
No, at that time Willie was renting a small house in an older neighborhood behind a supermarket. It was a fairly large family living in a house which couldn't have had more than 2 or 3 rooms at most and they were driving older cars which were often parked on their driveway. I lived farther down the street from them and used to run into Willie at that supermarket and he was always very personable. I was glad to see Willie bounced back and had another career resurgence. Today, he's living in Maui and was involved with a restaurant/bar which is now called Charley's. It's apparently under new ownership, although I believe he's made appearances there.
God, did her label capitalize on that for publicity. Entertainment Weekly even did a photo spread inside of her van

Avery's great misread thread titles, part 2,723: Musicians Who Were Hopeless (Confession: I didn't actually misread the title, it was just too good an opportunity to pass up!)
That was really cool. Thanks for sharing. I read he was trying to play for their latest album, but didn't make it on record, but it says he resumed his career (2013-), and I'm curious who he's playing with, and if he and Carlos have re-united again recently.
from everything i have ever read all indications point to the fact that david crosby had no residence right before he went to prison in texas. be forewarned, however, i could be totally wrong on this too.
My wife saw her play at a coffee shop at that time. Back when she was still yodeling. My friends Rev and Breezy with The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band were homeless for the first couple of years of their career. They gave up their home, sold everything they had in a yard sale, bought a van and went on the road playing gigs. They would sleep on fans couches and shower in truck stops. Whenever young musicians ask them how to succeed and they just say "get in the van."
Was Mike Bloomfield homeless at the time of his death, which happened in his car (that was piled high with trash according to internet rumors)?
If squatting counts, then everyone in My Bloody Valentine was homeless at the time they signed to Creation and started reinventing what guitar-based rock could be.
