Why does this album have to be remixed anyway...? Is the original stereo mix not ok? I like the first CD release from the late 1980s....
Just when you think you've seen it all. The mind continues to boggle. Insanity is running rampant with all things "officially" Sinatra!
Better than nothing, I suppose. With only 4,000 copies worldwide, you have to wonder how many record stores will actually carry it?
I'll be so relieved when the "My Way" anniversary is over. But then 2020 is going to be the 40th anniversary of "New York, New York" and 2021 will be the 55th anniversary of "Strangers In The Night." Those three damn songs are going to haunt us FOREVER.
The best we can get is another reissue of My Way but we'll never see the Complete Columbia Master Takes box Chuck was going to do. Different company I understand but its a joke.
I don't think we'll see any "new" Sinatra from SONY for a long, long time. The new head honcho is allegedly very tight with the budget. I'll leave it at that.
Anyway back to the issue at hand... I can't get to the cd version of My Way 50th on Amazon UK. The vinyl is there but they have screwed up the cd link to the 40th Anniversary version instead.

This is the standout track for me on the Bergman album. My thoughts at the SFF: I’m really enjoying the orchestration on this “new” alternate version of “How Do You Keep the Music Playing?” from ’83. The harp intro and the unmistakable sound of Charles Turner’s trumpet are especially catchy. I much prefer this to the familiar album version. Just gorgeous.
Sinatra's vocal is a little rough in spots on the alternate "How Do You Keep..." but I like the alternate arrangement, and I too like Charles Turner's little trumpet fills! Definitely worth owning. "Leave It All To Me" is still pretty terrible though, IMO.
I‘m listening to the 50th A. Edition of My Way right now. The new remix is clean, dry and the vocals are very upfront - Larry Walsh’s new signature mixing style. Not my cup of tea. I prefer the old CD from the 1980s.
The Bergman CD is a nice compilation IMO..... the alternate version HDYK.... is interesting. LIATM is just horrible and Frank knew ist.
