Played and "Liked" a bunch of these tonight - a few more than once. Some strayed away from pop/rock, and some were imperfect, but I loved 'em. Dwight Twilley's "I'm On Fire", though, is undoubtedly a perfect pop/rock song!

    Why God created vinyl.
    Very honorable mention!

This remains my favorite Kiss song...

Perfect pop, heartfelt, beautifully and beautifully conveyed.

Just one major example of why this band has always been “king of the mountain” for me... :)

I always found this early 70’s gem to be yet another example of “perfect pop” and an enduring reminder of “they don’t write me like they used to”...

Loved it then. Love it just as much today.

From the great Jim Croce, who left us too soon...

I haven't gone through the 23 pages of this thread so apologize if these have already been mentioned but here are a couple Canadian contributions:

    And still more “perfect pop”...

One of those songs like “More Than A Feeling”, “Tiny Dancer”, or “You Make Loving Fun”, where I instantly think “Seventies” when I hear it. They exist not simply as well crafted songs, but signposts of their time...

    So evocative...

Another that seems to fit the “perfect pop” label to perfection...

One of those pop staples you can hear a million times (and I probably have) and yet it endures...

Love the shimmering lush production that fits the topic of the track so gorgeously...

"I wish I was as mellow as say, Jackson Browne/But Fountain of Sorrow my a**, m**********r, I hope you wind up in the ground".
One of my favourite couplets in a song.

A friend of mine, when visiting Arizona, went to Winslow just so he could stand on a corner there.
When I was in Arizona, I saw the sign on the highway for Winslow, but resisted the urge to do the same!

This waltz time Beach Boys gem is about as good as pop gets for me. Lead vocal, harmonies, backing track, strings (at first psychedelic, then classical) and production are all top notch:
