Well, the Brenda Russell penned and performed, "Piano In The Dark" isn't a bad place to start. Here's a live performance:

Fantastic deep cut from their debut album. Glyn Johns sure knows how to get good sounds!

I'm going to go with Grace Slick / Jefferson Airplane "Hey Fredrick" from Volunteers. It's a perfect maelstrom of noise, a great example of the band at it's height. Grace is her typical crazy, I'm surprised Jorma doesn't get a writing credit for how much his guitar adds to the song. I could have gone with Eskimo Blue Day from the same album, but I flipped a coin.

Here's an oddball I really like.

This also belongs on the jangle guitar thread. I had forgotten about it. It's perfect.

This looks like a thread with legs but already there are a bunch of songs I don't know.

Thanks everyone. I look forward to being educated! :righton:

Thanks for posting this. I had forgotten this song, and I was trying to remember the other deep cuts. I think I have my old original debut album, and I really like the less well-known numbers. Sometimes this record gets short shrift, their supposedly not-yet-mature iteration. I like it fine, especially since it's not dominated by Henley. (I'm not going to call out Frye, he's a lot cooler than Don in my book.) Nice to hear Randy with a lead vocal. Listening to the Poco debut, I'm not sure we can even hear him over Richie and Messina.
