Hawkwind - Master of The Universe ( Space Ritual Version) Motorhead - Overkill (No Sleep Till Hammersmith Version)
One of the finest and heaviest pieces of music from Justin Broadrick's lengthy back catalogue, Godflesh's Dead Head from the Tiny Tears sessions. Distortion pedals in extremis and some uncharacteristically clean even beautiful vocals that anticipate his Jesu music some 15 years later. This may prompt me to pull out Streetcleaner now which is absolute masterpiece of post-Swans volcanic rock...
While this 'track' is totally a-typical for most of their material, I'll always look for any opportunity to get people to check out NEGATIVLAND!!
Excuse me if these tongue-in-cheek examples have been listed. Steppenwolf, Earschplittenloudenboomer It's heavy. Even it's Sid Caesar-influenced title is heavy. The Move, Brontosaurus It's heavy. Whether brontosaurus or apatosaurus, even the creature the title refers to is heavy.
I'm more familiar with their work with I.R.S., so I don't think I've heard "Departure" yet (I only own the band's studio discography on CD from Murmur up to and including Out Of Time, and it isn't on Part Lies or In Time). Apparently, some of the deep-cuts on Monster are quite heavy, but I've yet to listen to that.
One of the most interesting aspect of Damaar is that they're from Lebanon, in the Middle East. Unfortunately, their demo is the only release from that band and subsequently broke-up. I have yet to find any band that can touch Damaar. And speaking of heaviest song from a band, there's Witchrist from New Zealand. Here's a sampler below: The Grand Tormentor is one absolutely crushing death/doom metal album. Enough said.
Perhaps "Revolution": Also, 'Let Me In' off Monster has very heavy distortion and sludgy although it has no drums thus is hard to categorise.
I was picturing Iceland or Norway to be honest. The sincerity of the brutal darkness is bone chilling.
Considering that the band members faced multiple wars, religious strife, government corruption, and general unstability, their absolute fury is quite palpable. And here's another example of one heavy and destructive song by Tetragrammacide from Kolkata, India:
