I started to binge watch this show on Netflix about DEA and Columbian government's battles with Pablo Escobar and the detailing of his rise and fall. I think it's awesome. Very enjoyable.

I hope they'll have a cameo appearance by Adrian Grenier.

Loving it. My wife hates it, and I've no idea why as we usually like the same things.

Watched a bunch of them now. Escobar is really out of control with paranoia.

Just finished the season last night. Can't wait for season 2. Looks like Escobar's arrogance and greed will do him in. (I don't remember how he was killed in real life. Hope that's not a spoiler)

I know in real life he escaped from prison and was on the run. You think they have enough material for a season 2?. Maybe they'll focus on the other cartel too and the dea

I don't know. Without checking, I think they are up to around 1983 and if I recall he died in the early nineties. What a horrible all around human being.

I thought they were up to the late 80s now (I have 3 episodes left), but I could be wrong. They have mobile (satellite?) phones for instance.

I think the real life escobar died in 92 or 93. Just heard the show got renewed for a second season. Not sure when he escaped from the prison in relation to his death.

It would be very cool if they released a soundtrack.

Yeah, I'm wondering what band it was that sounded like early Jethro Tull.

I think the first season was outstanding. Aside from great performances and a fascinating story, the production values and photography were amazing. Those sweeping shots of stunning scenery remind me a lot of True Detective season one.

It also reminded me how staggering ignorant I am of the history that's being depicted here. Most of the plot developments that occurred came as real surprises to me. I realize this is a fictionalized account, but I get the sense the creators did a ton of research to insure the broad strokes, at least, were accurate. I look forward to researching this and learning where the line between truth and fiction is.

Watched a few episodes over the weekend and agree that it's very good. The mixing of actual news footage is very smart as it really amps up the drama. If one wants to dig deeper you should watch the Cocaine Cowboys documentary, also on Netflix. Makes Scarface look like Sesame Street! I'd also recommend Killing Pablo, excellent book written by Mark Bowden, the author of Black Hawk Down.

The mix of news footage and dramatized accounts is a combination that almost never works. But Narcos nails it perfectly. I was really impressed.
