We'll see. I enjoy watching this with my wife. . . didn't seem to be a 'quality drop' to me, it was consistently entertaining for us. I agree that this network may not be able to afford the excess. . . and maybe they'll retool successfully.

On the positive side, the Hipsters pay top dollar for the albums I no longer want.
My HVAC technician son has more work than he can handle ( 14 hour days / 7 days a week at times ! )
Retiring in late 2013 was possibly THE best timing of my entire 57 years ?!?

Yeah. You lucked out there. I'm 40 and working here is absolutely horrible now. I should have gone into the HVAC biz! Love the meme! That sums it up nicely! The hipsters paid top dollar for all my 80's Zeppelin represses, so I know what you mean there! There are still things to love, but a lot of what I loved has gone away.

Chris ( my son ), 33 in Sept., was born here, so he's actually torn. We usually leave Davidson County to have peace, and quiet, and the Tennessee beauty we all know, and love.
Downtown, my home away from home for 30+ years is nearly unrecognizable to me now.

That's how I felt about Austin by the time I moved away after thirty-two plus years. I do miss my friends and the FOOD.

I was born in Chicago, 1958. There, it was common to be caught in a crowd SO LARGE, that I'd have to walk a block or two out of my way, before I could " break loose of the crowd," then backtrack.
Now, downtown Nashville is the same.

I've been here for 20 years, and I used to love downtown, and it used to be easy to drive down 12th Ave. where Corner Music and Fork's Drum Closet are. Not anymore! The local police could have a field day on that street if they ticketed people for jaywalking.
I used to live in an apartment on Music Row when I first came here, and I paid $350 in rent. I could walk to Belmont where I went to school for music. Now, I live right on the edge of Davidson County and nearly in Pegram (Cheatham County). It's much cheaper out there, but the commute is no fun! I also just traded crack heads for meth heads as far as crime goes. o_O

I went to the University of Chicago. . . I know what you're talking about. Austin's problems are a bit different. . . worst traffic I've been in except. . . maybe Nashville. . . and cost of living too high for the wages you can earn, among others.

Now I live in a wooded sparsely housed area across the street from many acres of a state nature preserve and half a mile from a lake, and I don't have to nor do I get out much. Niiiiice.

Too bad. There's a lot of great television out there.

No commercials, no editing, no crappy picture, no crappy audio, just 1080p discs, music, and reading. Three years of not being annoyed by a box in the corner.
Life is full of choices, most don't realize that until it's too late.

Hmmm. I not quite sure what type of service is available in your area, but I get 1080p picture quality, 5.1 DD sound, great programming from the premium channels, plus excellent content from PBS, BBC America, etc.from my provider. As for shows with commercials, that's why God invented the DVR.

(By the way, I do have blurays, audio discs & books readily available to me, if I choose.) ;)

I don't feel "sheepish" one bit. I pick and choose my programming carefully & intelligently. I don't think that constitutes lemming mentality.
