There should be a seperate section on stuff that we saw at Amoeba. For those of you who do not live in S.F., Berkley, or Los Angeles, it is one amazing store. Cheap used cds. Jazz. Classical. A good record collection. And quite a bit of those MFSL/DCC discs.

And how about the free live shows?... among many others, I've been treated to Los Lobos, Brian Setzer, Sonic Youth. Kaki King, Trey Gunn Band, Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, Rembrandts...

Oh yeah, the thread topic... open it.

They might have played here (I'm in SF)... I'm sure I've missed more killer shows at Amoeba than I've caught... when other posters bemoan the death of the record store, I just take a walk to A, and feel lucky.

Think I'll go today... maybe even find a DCC BOTR.

Open and play. Unsealed items don't play well.

    Keep is sealed.

Then buy a mint copy for listening.

Do this for every title in the gold DCC catalog.

That way you will have a great collection and a great listening experience.

And I won't be the only crazy one here.

If you really like the music, open it. You will enjoy it. Sure, you could try to sell it for a nice profit on eBay, but as was said here already, it's not one of the rarer DCC titles. If you put it up on eBay, there's a good chance it won't be the only sealed copy available.

I bought a sealed copy of Band on the Run last year (for more than $30), but I left it sealed since I had two CD-R copies.

If you like the album, then just play it. I get rather annoyed with collector-types. You're not going to get rich off selling a cd like that.
