Thanks Neil for inspiring me to play, and for teaching me through your songs how musical drums can really be. Precision is indeed a virtue.
Both the untimely death of Neil Peart and the COVD-19 quarantine made me make this video. With total respect and admiration to Rush and the memory of Neil Peart. Hope you enjoy it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I2Ds2Arl3s (Just in case, I'm the bass player. Not the drummer)
Enjoyed that very much Hail Vinyl! Great great tribute. You've made up my mind as to what I'm listening to tonight . Cheers to you and the band.
40 years ago today during the Permanent Waves tour I met the great man outside the Albany Hotel in Glasgow and got his autograph. Happy days, as a sixteen year old kid I was awe struck despite the later distancing himself from fans he was really polite and charming. Some memories last forever indeed.
Thanks for sharing. I'm in awe of anyone that has musical ability. I love listening to music, but can't play an instrument to save my life.
The guitar is a Schecter C-1 FR S SLS Evil Twin and the bass is a Rickenbacker 4003. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thank you all who have watched it so far.
I haven't watched it yet, but I know Alex used to have this routine backstage to put on a paper bag as a mask. They called him when he did this (or his character) "The Bag."
The mask is from this 1980 interview promoting the Permanent Waves album. Alex looks pretty baked and doesn’t talk much at all during the video but at the end wears the mask which is pretty funny in typical Alex fashion. LoL
