It's basically an album of noodling about, based heavily on the chords of old songs. Great as a soundtrack to a film but not particularly exciting as a project in its own right. If it wasn't Neil Young it wouldn't invite a second listen.

And I don't think "essential compared to his other albums with POTR" is a particularly impressive (or in my opinion, accurate) accolade.

Oops. There I go expressing an opinion again. Timely reminder about why I stick to the Grateful Dead threads only around here. One post in and I immediately get two responses that my opinion is incorrect.

This ones worth a listen though it retreads old ground. Even some of the arrangements are familiar. Pocahontas sounds similar to unplugged. Actually I'm quite enjoying the noodles.

Well, that didn't happen. It's a year later, and it's still nearly 40 bucks.
I'd somehow ignored this entire project until today. Now I'm looking into it.
Added the film to my Netflix list, and put the vinyl on my Bull Moose wish list.

It was £12 at the time: I was making a little joke.

I need a calculator to convert any other currency into US dollars, I can't do such math in my head, so I thought you were echoing what a US poster had just said a few posts before yours, about it being nearly $40.00.
    My mistake.
In US dollars, it hasn't dropped in a year.

Late to this particular party, but I have been playing this CD a lot recently. Nothing earth-shattering, but it's a nice to play in the background while you're doing something else. Sometimes you need music like that.

Peace Trail > Pocahontas > Cowgirl Jam is an excellent combo.
