I'm almost finished a long overdue re-read of Jimmy McDonough's exceptional bio, Shakey: Neil Young's Biography and a thought crossed my mind: When he was doing his rap, I wonder if Mr. Young was thinking about arguably the most prominent woman in his life.

This is going to be a great release. I know that there is no shortage of live acoustic Neil Young available, but this set is from a much later date and includes many songs that we haven't heard live on official releases. And I'm glad it's got 22 songs--it's not skimpy like a few other PS releases.

Really feels like a stopgap product. It's not like there were online petitions saying "release the 76 acoustic solo performances!" Still, Archive releases are always welcome.

It's the 'Neil Young is God and don't let anyone say any different' that gets me (and I'm a fan.)

Thrashers Wheat is a scary place. I wonder what Neil thinks of it.

  9. Believe me Thrashers Wheat is a lot more righteous and intolerant of anyone who criticises any aspect of Neil than anything you would see here-including Beatles threads!

Well, if he posted a comment there, they'd probably boot him off the forum not showing sufficient respect for Neil Young....

Thrashers Wheat is a good site, and over the years it has been a great community. It has lost a lot of traffic, but I think that's primarily attributable to Neil's declining popularity.

Anyone who considers themselves to be Neil Young fans should be thankful for Thrashers Wheat, both yesterday and today!

I pre-ordered the CD from Amazon, expected out 11/30/18. Amazon is now saying it won't ship until 12/5/18. Hopefully my local indie will have it in stock on Friday 11/30/18 as I'm jonesin' for some new Neil Young! All other retailers and NYA still say 11/30 as the release date.

    LP is expected on 12/14/18.

    Man this is too cute:

I got word that Neil was going to play at the last concert for The Band at Winterland and could I do guitars for him and for Bob and Joni. I set up rehearsal for Bob and The Band at their hotel through the afternoon, which was stunning. I was the only person who got to hear it until Neil came in, hours and hours later. I can remember them playing “Forever Young” and Neil sitting in the corner, punching the air on the word “Young”. “Forever YOUNG!”
