I have this, but actually prefer it as a scratchy needle-drop. Suits the music better. Somehow a cleaned-up TFA just doesn't work. It's supposed to make your head ache, just as Neil's head was pounding when he did that tour. Crank up "L.A." and you'll actually start choking on the smog.
Neil knew nothing about it when asked recently. Unless Neil says it's being released I don't reckon it's happening.
TFA fans still getting the short end of the stick in 2022. Next year is the 50th anniversary... will keep my expectations in check.
A*****n had it for about sixteen quid initially, then it increased to over twenty and now it sits at £13.99 before p&p. I imagine it'll be at under a tenner before 23 September, but I'm sticking with Badlands.
I've ordered my copy from Amazon and got the free download with it so assume that it really be released on 23rd September!
I have travelled a bootleg journey over the years with this title. I am glad to have an official release now.
Was this pairing with Where the Buffalo Roam a legitimate release? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Time-Fades...&qid=1660555173&sprefix=time+fa,aps,73&sr=8-4
Definitely not! Its nicely packaged and good to have the Buffalo soundtrack and doesn't sound too bad, but I'm looking forward to the Official version.
I'm still dubious that this is actually happening, but it's up for preorder on Amazon US with a September 23 release date.
A live album comprised exclusively of previously unheard material is such a rare and bold move. Time Fades Away has long been one of my favorite Neil albums.
For the sceptics, Badlands - who I trust wholeheartedly - include the following phrase, almost as if they're aware that this sounds too good to be true: "made available again via Reprise / Warner Records" It's now 27 years since I read in MOJO about this album's release on CD, so I'm ok to wait a little longer.
There was a few of these knocking around decades ago that were selling for a fortune. I wonder how much that 1995 withdrawn CD is worth now? Neil Young - Time Fades Away (withdrawn 1995 HDCD CD Release) | Steve Hoffman Music Forums
This is up for preorder on Amazon US now. Just ordered, $14.98. Sept 23 release. What a time to be alive.
