Nervous about setting heaviest item not on lowest shelf?

  1. That could work well. Also a very thin metal spatula or such to slowly insert under the feet.

    I am now thinking safety razor in a holder (used to clean glass cooktops) with WD-40 )) ..

    Try heating with a blow dryer from underneath.

    DO NOT heat the glass! Local heating will put enormous stress in the glass and cause it to crack. I wouldn't use a razor blade either because a scratch is a stress riser and it's liable to shatter.
    I would use your fingers and pry each corner loose and slip a piece of clean paper under it.

    I wouldn't if it was mine, anything that can scratch the glass probably won't end well. You said it was a 60 lb turntable? Pull the platter, that should knock 10 or 15 lbs off of the weight. Anything that you can do to make it lighter so you can carefully pry up one corner at a time to slip a piece of paper under it.

    Thank you. I do not know if metal can scratch a glass, but you’re point is taken.
    I may remove platter and ask my strong neighbor to help me )). My own hands are shut.
