    I just hope it gets a physical release. Being a long time Pacino fan it would suck so much.

    Phil Spector he did that didn't get a DVD non-manufactored on demand state side (no countin Me, Natalie which was Australia only).

    Something this big would make zero sense.

    A frickin shame it isn't hitting the theaters. Though there are major talents here I see this being a come and go with not much talk.

    This might ensure physical release eventually.

    Apparently Marty has been assured of one by Netflix, it was part of the deal as I understand it... wonder when the first trailer will be out?

    I know Bobby D is stressing the importance of a theatrical release. Netflix has no interest in a Cinema audience.

    No they don't... according to Paul Schrader (who's remained one of Marty's close friends and confidants), The Irishman will get precisely two weeks in theaters... that's as much as Marty was (allegedly) able to squeeze out of Netflix!!!

    It's an interesting conundrum for a filmmaker; get a sizable budget and complete creative control with Netflix without all the hassle of studio interference... but lose widespread theatrical distribution (the heart of soul of film viewing and presentation) in the process!

    Hate that mentality. It is all about cintrol of content and when and where you see it on crappy displays "on the go" wth crap bit rates and encouraging no public interaction.

    It is Wall-E come to life.

    Reading my original post from 2 years ago (!) $105 million isn't really a lot of money for a project this big, is it? There can't be much back end money with only 2 weeks in theaters.

    @Vidiot any thoughts?

    Scorsese has done great things for the reputation of Italian Americans, I'm hoping he can do the same for Irish Americans. Fingers crossed.

    The movie is not very expensive.... the most expensive are the hours of rendering the special effects without the movie would not be possible ;)
