I like the green, or beige.
Do these have brass on the top of the platter?

Yeah the matte black with gold trim is cool. I like the 50th Anniversary Badge too. I guess they're only selling 12k of these. Good luck getting one. I did sign up for the notification from TT Lab.

Red looks nuts! But they should add a bright blue one as well.

I like the traditional grey/silver way better; wouldn't pay a penny for decor.

Yeah the Red is cool. The Blue one is a dark blue.

Only an extra $100 for the limited editions. Doesn't seem too bad. Will prob have a better resale value with the limited production run.

If the GR had been available in red when I was looking, I would have grabbed it. They just look so nice. There was a guy here in NJ that was putting insane finishes on 1200's about 10 years ago and selling on Craig's list. He sold quite a few. They were absolutely beautiful but not for me, I was looking for new not refurbished.

It's the Mk. 7, so most likely no. Only the G/GAE's have the brass platter.

I put in for the stock notice email for the Red and Matte Black ones. I think you have to do it for each color. If they open up, I'm going to grab one.

Keep us posted Booltman sounds great! They must be selling a crazy number of decks to come up with yet another choice for the buyer. I never realized there were so many DJ's left in the world!

I bet it will be tough to get one. Only 12k total production. We'll see! I was going to get a Mk7 anyway, been saving up. And I'm not a DJ, that's for sure. Downside is it looks like they didn't add hinges to the dustcover. Not a deal breaker.

Yeah my "DJ" comment was meant to be a joke.

OK, more detailed question then: what is that brass/gold looking ring around the perimeter of all these decks?

I think they all have the "Gold" 50th Anniversary trim. Tonearms are gold colored too.

Yeah so it's a gold colored plate on top of the platter I guess, I figured as much because if it were brass they would say that in the spec sheet I imagine.

Not a plate, just the normal slipmat it comes with instead of the rubber mat, but with some gold coloring.

I'd grab one of these in a heartbeat if I didn't already have one of the SL 1200 LTD Gold edition models.

The blue coloured deck in the photos there is especially nice in my opinion.

I suspect that is the slip mat...

Gold arm a bit gaudy but otherwise they look fine and should work fine also. I guess folks that bought a turntable because it came in a "cute" color and want to upgrade to something better can buy one of these. Of the options shown - blue, gray, and white look the best IMHO.

Obviously silver and black are still available for the traditionalists.
