question, if you would. I am considering buying the EL Dac II, but only if the USB connection powers the device connected to it, for example, an iPad that would be dedicatedly connected to it. Do you know? Thanks in advance.
I have the EL Dac II also, and I believe the USB is only an input. It is indeed a great little DAC tho.
The JDS El DAC II USB port is an input, not an output to the DAC. Devices usually won't output USB voltage in that direction.
You could look at a device such as the following: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Char...ideo+camera+usb+adapter&qid=1644103069&sr=8-5 It might be your solution for charging. Check it out.
I bought his EL Dac II when he sold it on the forum here a few months ago, and I am really enjoying it, it is a very nice step up from the lower-end DACs I had up until then. I also bought a Cambridge DacMagic+ at the same time to compare. The JDS EL Dac II just had more detail and "oomph" so I sold the DacMagic+.
I bought an El DAC2 about five months ago, and love it. This is end game DAC for me (fairly modest system, compared to lots here).
Yep db meter and test tones here....although I'm not sure i trust db meters below 25hz which i consider pretty inconsequential.
