I had forgotten all about B W Stevenson. Need to get that one and the Guess Who. May wait until I get a job...

    B.W. Stevenson • MY MARIA & CALABASAS [SACD Hybrid Multi-channel] - CDSML8565 | eBay

You'll earn approximately $1.73 in eBay Bucks. Hey maybe I won't wait...

Sales tax? Wow. How can eBay charge sales tax on something purchased from overseas? Sounds illegal to me.

Came out ahead buying it from the Vocalion site. 16.99 GBP vs 18.99 GBP on eBay. Tracked economy shipping. Of course I don't get the $1.73 in eBay Bucks now.

i'm really looking forward to it, not least because the "My Maria" Quad was on a scarce Canadian-only Q8 tape with no reel or CD-4 vinyl release so i've never heard it but the Quad of "Calabasas" was v.nice.

Isn't there still So Long Bannatyne. They could add Best of Volume One to that. After all the AF is out of print.

    Not illegal.

    Tax Information

Ebay and Amazon and every other vendor based in the United States is required to collect sales taxes from you on your purchases, and submit them to the state that claims jurisdiction on the sales.

If you buy from an overseas vendor who doesn't charge sales tax, YOU become legally responsible to pay the applicable sales taxes to your state of residence on your purchases. Most state tax agencies are gathering data on purchases from big vendors (like Amazon), and if you buy a lot of stuff for which you aren't paying sales tax, be prepared to receive a letter from your state tax department reminding you that you are legally obligated to pay sales taxes on all your purchases via the internet, regardless of where the seller was located around the world. I received such a letter 2 years ago from my state tax department. And my tax accountant told me that he requires all his clients to pay some kind of "make good" sales tax amount if they made any significant non-taxed purchases on-line.

    BW Stevenson intrigues me.
Were there any other hits beyond My Maria?

I’ll check YouTube, there’s bound to be more of his music there to sample

  17. BW ‘Buckwheat’ Stevenson was Sam Cookes’ nephew. So there’s that, in addition to his four or five albums he recorded. I have them all on the Collectables label and they are actually quite good. Of course My Maria is one of the all time great hit singles from the 70’s.

Very happy for the Guess Who twofer, but wish they offered the Buddy Miles albums as 2 separate purchases (since it is 2 disc set). I want the live album but Booger Bear isn't very good IMO.

Yes, he had “On My Own” which was a lesser charting hit, but a stunner in the singer / songwriter genre. And I believe he was the writer of Three Dog Night’s hit “Shamballa”. So he was quite accomplished and imo was bound for more commercial and chart action.

Mildly disappointing list for me. Was hoping for some Weather Report titles.
