FYI all the shows up to and including '78 are reel recordings and were Plangent processed, '79 on are cassettes or digital tapes but in my mind sound better than I thought they would.

By the way, the 1967 show is one of the real gems of the whole box.

Just a note: I like to play music on the same day of the year that it was recorded, it kind of puts me in the mood. So last night I listened to a concert from this set that was recorded on Nov. 10, 1967. Man that concert just sounded marvelous. It is the Shrine Exposition Hall, Los Angeles CA November 10, 1967 show and I highly recommend this concert as a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours.

As an aside, I played it again this morning. I really like this show.

It's fantastic, both in sound quality and performance vice. Highly reccomended and it's available as a stand alone release also (expensive 3LP set)

Exactly. This one is from an original multi-track tape and sounds phenomenal. But the performance is also stellar.

Today's show is from Lakeland Civic Center, Lakeland, Fl, November 28th, 1980. I am really digging the vibes of this show, a really nice Terrapin Station.

Where did you hear this? I know some folks had discs replaced for various breaks/scratches but I hadn't heard that there was any wide replacement program going on. I could be mis-remembering though.

  11. This. Only the discs that needed to be, were. I'm not aware of any recall/replacement across the board for any one particular disc.

about 5 months after I got my box they magically showed up in my mailbox and I had made no contact with Dr Rhino. My original disc seem fine so i was curious if I was just not keen enough to hear whatever

  13. Probably by mistake. Someone else may have requested and were shipped to you, wire crossed.

Or a misguided effort to placate those who clamor for more '80s and '90s releases. :nyah:

That '76 show is rather weak, I was hoping that one of the Capitol Theater or Tower Theater shows would have been used instead.
The 1967 show is incredible, one for the books.

I love "Some Velvet Morning." But your idea is perverse....

....don't get me wrong, though; it's so perverse I'd pay to hear it, even if I did feel like I needed a shower afterward...

I think maybe the roles should be reversed, though....think about Phil crooning that chorus....ugh, gack, ptfaa! Brilliant.

I've had some issues ripping some of the discs in the set - they don't verify as accurate on accurip and static or other noise is present at times in some of the ripped tracks. The worst offenders have been the 72 and 73 releases, which otherwise seem to play fine. Did anyone have this issue? I use EAC. I've had to do this in Burst mode because it won't get past the first second in secure mode. If you had this issue, how did you fix it?

I’ve had no issues using dBPoweramp and all return as accurate rip verified. PM me and I would be glad to help replace any problem files you have.
