New integrated amp for B&W 804D D3

Thanks for your take on this. I could get a really nice deal on a floor model L-509x. I am not sure how that would pair. I will look into the brands you mentioned.

 

That looks like a very nice amp. It almost doubles its power into 4 ohms, so should be OK to drive the B&Ws. Can you demo the two together?

My only experience with Luxman amps was this one:

Luxman B-1000F monoblock power amplifier

It was superb, but should be at that price!

 

I’ve been auditioning speakers now that we’re emerging from lockdown, and recently heard examples from Wilson and Sonus Faber.

But the 804D3s still stick in my mind. I had an audition of the 805D3 a year ago before Covid struck, and out of curiosity, tried the 804s to compare. I was surprised at how wonderful they sounded. They are also relatively compact, which is a plus in my small to midsize listening room.

And all that said, my wife still feels they could be mini-robots from an early Dr. Who episode. Another navigation issue.
