    Bond 26?

Looks like Tom Hardy gets to wear the tux. Shaken and not stirred. :)

Craig was good must admit. But he only made one good JB film. He was lucky with CR the rest were awful.

He was clueless and his films were awful.

Black actors are in No Time To Die.

No issues here. A lady Bond would be an entirely different character, but I don't think his race really makes a difference.

    Still, not happening anytime soon.

A new James Bond? Craig's barely out the door and already there's a fresh recruit...

Regarding the new Bond du jour, Tom Hardy would be a solid choice, I believe. For starters, he's someone people will be curious to see as 007 - an important selling point, considering how successful Craig's Bonds have been at the box office - and cut more from the Daniel Craig/Sean Connery cloth than say, Henry Cavill. That's no knock on Cavill - only that Connery and Craig have a certain brutish quality that's just barely hidden beneath the bespoke tailored suits.

...but I'll take news with a grain of salt, thanks. The Guardian article does a good job of throwing shade on the source of this "scoop" so until there's an official announcement, it's all just kinda rumor. Fun rumor, sure - I'm nibbling on that conversational bait - but only just that. While I'm at it, why does there have to be the usual standard press release/conference? At this point, shouldn't the Bond series have an official "changing of the guard" ceremony where the previous Bond surrenders his tux to the newly ordained Bond just taking the Bond Oath of Office? "I, do solemnly swear to have my martinis shaken and not stirred, to willingly plug the shameless product tie-ins, to threaten to resign from the role at least once, to kiss the ring of Connery upon who's mighty Scottish shoulders we stand, to claim adherence to the Original Fleming even while piloting a tricked out, high tech Aston Martin under the sea, etc..." (haha).

...and hey, while we're talking Bond, let's pour one out for the late Michael Lonsdale who after a long career working with Truffaut, Welles, and Bunuel...is being universally eulogized as "The Bond villain from Moonraker".

Quentin Tarantino’s favourite James Bond actor is Pierce Brosnan.

Craig ? Well he was with the franchise for 14 years. New Bond ? It’s been on the cards for a few years now... the speculation.

Scoop ? Yeah ! That’s a bit ridiculous unearthing something from a forum. Maybe a insider scoop.

    Hardy ?
He just has to ditch that B movie MCU character Venom.

We're never, ever, getting a woman to get to try this, are we. Especially after the thirteenth Doctor...
Would have loved for Carey Mulligan to have a go at it (no, not kidding.)

Although I wasn’t a big fan of Pierce Brosnan as JB. I wonder if he lost playing JB to his involvement with Quentin Tarantino apparently QT was keen to write a JB script. Maybe the Broccoli’s didn’t like the idea. The Irish actor got the swift boot shortly after. Coincidence maybe, maybe not.

    Die Another Day.
    PB was only 49.

They wanted rid of him alright.

    Did him a favour.
He’s subsequent films post Bond have been excellent. A few good ones at least!!!!

There is a definite weight gain at the end of the opening tracking shot in the hotel room. Craig clearly has middle age spread compared to the stand in.

My leftfield nomination is Karl Urban. Great hard man assassin in a Bourne movie, smouldering good looks in Lord of the Rings, good comic timing in the Star Trek reboot, and those three roles demonstrate his adaptability to character, rather than carrying over baggage from a previous franchise.

Sorry, I should have said the opening shot of Spectre, not the new movie.

    Good, reasonable nomination.
If it weren't for his pouty expression I'd agree.
