Has anybody bought these or auditioned them ? I listened to them in a shop while I was in Osaka last weekend and liked what I heard. However it wasn't enough to make a conclusive decision as they were just on a shelf surrounded by other speakers and not set up properly. Also I didn't have any of the music (mainly southern rock) I normally listen to get a real feel for them. What I heard though has made me interested to find out more about them as I am in the market for new speakers.

Were they discontinued? The link the OP posted to JBL Synthesis is now broken…

The shop quoted me ¥165,000 and the JBL catalogue has them listed as ¥198,000

  8. The link in the OP’s post isn’t working so here is a link to them at Music Direct:

JBL - HDI-4309 Bookshelf Speakers (Pair)

As these are for home use I can’t understand why they call them ‘studio’ monitors. Whatever. Would be fun to audition them regardless.

Surprised to see they’re 4 Ohm.
