I had the chance to dee MANY Priest shows in the last few years, even interviewed Rob Halford a while a go and he ALWAYS delivered the goods. Amazing singer!

I interviewed Rob right before the first Halford record came out. I asked him how he maintains his voice. He shrugged, smiled and said, "I have no idea." Adding that he smokes menthos regularly.

This announcement was bittersweet for me. I went from being super pumped about the new album to bitterly disappointed about the tour. They are skipping my city.....AGAIN.

No NYC date either...any idea who they're touring with? They haven't exactly been selling out rooms this size lately

I checked the first date on the tour in PA and it says: Saxon and Black Star Riders.

There is a Long Island date and one in Newark (Prudential Center).

Firepower seems like a pretty dumb title but I'm just happy as hell to get another Priest album after the triumph of Redeemer of Souls. I'll be interested when they start rolling out the song clips because when they did that for ROS I hated everything I heard and thought the album was going to be a total dud and ended up being completely wrong.

As for the tour dates, it strikes me that the tour will have another leg (at least) and those dates given are just the beginning.

Yeah I saw that. I always wonder when they don't schedule a NYC date. For Maiden's Book Of Souls tour they played Newark (sold out) two shows in Brooklyn (both sold out) and an earlier sold out Madison Square Garden show.

I'd prefer to see them in Holmdel than in Newark just because it's closer to me and...it's not Newark. That being said, I'm buying two tickets on the presale.

These are great news! Probably they are going to do the first leg of the States tour, then go to Europe for the Summer festivals...

I'll have to try see this tour. Saxon would be a great opening act!

It's worth pointing out that Maiden is probably the most or 2nd most popular metal band in the world. Priest can barely do 2-3k in most parts of the US these days.

You can blame in large part the absolutely insane ticket prices for those crowds.

I will catch them on LI - I expect more dates could be forthcoming, but Judas Priest + Saxon is too good to pass up. Plus my son thinks Saxon are "badass."

    Sheer nonsense.

I've seen the band numerous times over the past few years, and a bunch of times during their "prime" throughout the 80's, and Rob still sounds great.

I came up with a Nostradamus collection that works for me as a solid Priest album. Call it the Nostradamus EP, call it what you will, it seems to work. I do however like the full Nostradamus also as a piece of work. Try it out. Looking forward to the new album.

I'm disappointed that they won't be stopping in Cincinnati. This unfortunately seems to be the norm for most bands I like. :shake: Youngstown is too far away, so it looks like I'll be sitting this one out.

Closest to me is Youngstown, OH and that is too far away. Hopefully they announce more dates or add another US leg of the tour (hopefully after a European or South American leg.)

    Yep.

They usually hit Cincinnati on every tour. I've seen them many times including every tour since Rob Halford came back.
