I don’t have this one so I will definitely be getting the 24 bit version.

What 'official thing'? As far as I can see, it's not mentioned on LZ.com or their FB. In fact, the OP link to some place I've never even heard of seems to be the only source for this 'news'...?

Matt Rowe's site is reputable. I don't think he would post anything unless he had a reliable source.

I would assume the "whatever it is going to be live album" will be released in November.

I've got the original vinyl, the 4LP boxset from several years ago and the HD-DVD (really!). Will this be an actual remaster or reassembly (as Page likes to call it)? Otherwise I'm good because those bonus tracks were on both the HD formats and my HD-DVD player still works ; )

MusicTap is the music side of TheDigitalBits, which reviews Blu-Rays and DVDs. Both good sites, IMO.

I think I'll pick up something by Robbie Williams instead, just out of spite. Of course, I won't listen to it.

I believe you. Just clutching at straws that this was Fake News.

As celebratory 50th Anniversary releases go, this is a sick joke!

"Hear Peter Grant complain about Led Zeppelin getting taken by counterfeit concert goods in stunning Dolby Atmos sound! Hear the horse mounted NYPD patrolman say 'No comment' twice in all new restored audio taken directly from the master tapes!" :D

In the theater, by myself in 1976 (again, my friends couldn't have cared less ) I thought the police escort down the shoulder was pretty cool.

Honestly, I couldn't care less. I never liked this show(s), the movie was a huge letdown.

Well I guess they are just clearing off the catalogue with this last super deluxe reissue.

Excuse me?! I didn't know forums were only made for praise and applause!

I enjoyed most of the Zeppelin reissues. I find this one useless. The TSRTS cow has already been milked dry, and there wasn't much to milk to begin with.

I'm all in! One thing that will be nice is to see is the video for Celebration Day. I don't think that's ever been released, correct?

"In addition, the BD-Audio package will add in video performances of four songs not featured in the film (“Celebration Day”, “Over The Hills and Far Away”, “Misty Mountain Hop”, “The Ocean”)."

Almost correct. They haven't been released since 2007.

If I recall, “celebration day” is just some generic footage edited to appear as a complete take.

Pass. I want concerts that haven't been released before, not re-hashing the same old stuff. Already purchased the last reissue with bonus tracks. Let's get some material from shows that haven't been released yet, please? Even if it's more like a Stones "From the Vault" type of thing as opposed to "Dick's Picks."

Amazed that a band that has not been an active touring entity for close to 40 years still refuses to share the tapes. They will come out eventually, so Pagey and co. may as well make some money off of them while they are still around to do so.

Man I just shelled out for a Japanese first pressing of the original album. I would be down for the blu-ray if it has anything new and good to offer. That's it.

The problem with the whole thing, if I understand correctly, is that due to contractual reasons, the film cannot be edited in any way, so all the fantasy BS has to stay, and there can be no additions of other songs in the running order, which is why all the bonus tracks are separate. If Jimmy somehow got over this hurdle, then we'd have something.

But then there's the other hurdle that the filmmaker was incompetent and didn't get anywhere near enough footage of the actual shows to be able to add any meaningful bonus concert footage. The last bonus tracks were just snippets and random footage synced to the music. As far as I know, there's no way they could just release the whole show on video in the correct order, for contractual and film-deficiency reasons.

If I'm wrong about why there is not enough concert footage, then please forgive me. But if I'm right, I honestly want to find this bum and punch him in the face for losing such important footage to the sands of time. You had one chance to film Led Zeppelin. Well, actually three chances, and you came back with crap. They already had to go to a sound stage to supplement the actual footage. Man that makes me mad.

I can't believe that yet again they've put The Ocean at the end of disc 1, when it was played as an encore and fits comfortably time-wise at the end of disc 2 where it belongs.
