Those of you that like to follow/keep up with Line Magnetic, there is an all new integrated amp that's been released. The 508ia.

Runs 805 power tubes. 300b/6sn7 and 6sl7 for the driver/input side. 48 watts per channel. SET Class A

Just received my first one today. Have it hooked up to put some burn in hours on it, but I'm loving what I am hearing so far (have it hooked up to a pair of Joseph Audio Profiles).

You can see size/looks wise, it's very much like the 518. A bit more weight at around 85lbs. These in the US will have the black faceplate.

(sorry for the dark pictures.....not sure why they turned out that way)

That looks great, although I'm still partial to silver. ;)

Should be a great option for those of you wanting to try Line Magnetic with speakers a little harder to drive and worried that the 518 might not be just enough power!

Reminds me a bit of the Cary 805ae amps. Just a much smaller package and MUCH smaller price tag!

The VU meters on the front also double as bias gauges. Switch on the faceplate allows you to select which you want to see. And notice the adjustable feedback selector on the top (4 different settings).

I remember you telling me that the 219 punched way above its wattage in regards to driving speakers in the 86-88 dB sensitivity range. How does the 508 compare to the 219 in that and other areas?

Have not really had a lot of time to compare yet.....need to get some break in hours on the 508 to really get a good idea. With basically twice the power output, I am thinking that this unit will really be able to handle a good range of speakers though.

@GoldprintAudio , different product but not completely off topic as its a new-ish LM amp with 300B tubes, but have you had any of the LM217 IA's in your shop yet? I'd love a 300B SET amp, but 8W should be plenty for me.

    I've not tried a 217. I do have a 210 here which I like quite a bit.

Looks good. I bet that thing would be a problem in a smallish room in the summer, though...great in the colder months, I'm sure.

Isn't this the same price as the 518ia?

    About $500 more. $4450 versus $4995

I just realized that it utilizes 300b as driver tubes... this makes the extra $500 worth it. I love the 300b tube sound.

Certainly will when I have a bit more time to play around with it. Had no time at today to use it, but I have a customer coming tomorrow to hear it with DeVore 0-96's (he is trying to decide b/t those two options for his 96's).

I would lean towards the 210ia with the 96's.

The 210 is really good with the 96's, but I love the 518 and 219 with them.

Very interesting. Good to know. I have only heard them with shindo and AN. I would love to hear them with LM!
