These are illegal discs (copyright infringement of the Beatles, trademark violation of MFSL), but the seller warrenzevon_de at least admits that the CDs are not MFSL releases:

Translation: "I know, I know, the Beatles have never been released on MFSL CDs. These are extremely rare transfers of the MFSL LPs to CD (not a CD-R). Technically perfect. The sound is overwhelming! The Beatles never sounded like this ... promised! New 24k gold CDs in original lift case, the cover is a miniature of the MFSL cover. Extremely rare collector's item."

The seller andrescheutwinkel has a similar "disclaimer".

But Ebay.de would be obliged to take these auctions down if a rightholder complained.

Well at least he is honest, spent a bit of money manufacturing them they

are even sealed for purity, heavens to betsy.

And straight needle drop job too, fancy packaging. No one surfing has

complained not even BIG EMI,mfsl, apple. Just me. I apologize for starting

this thread crap. No one gives a monkey as the saying goes.

    Appalling?

What is appalling is that EMI / Apple has done such a crappy job with the catalog that there is a demonstrable demand for someone to actually make these high-quality needle-drops and sell them.

I mean, this is the last thing you would think you needed to go to the underground for - high-quality CD's of the standard Beatles albums.

There would be no market for these "pirate" issues if they had been done right in the first place. They are simply meeting a demand that EMI / Apple has no interest in acknowledging, let alone supplying.

Sing it brother! I agree with this statement completely!! Any audio-minded Beatles fan would gladly pay EMI/Capitol a premium to hear decent transfers of the Beatles albums IF they were made available.

I am thankful that I have the vinyl and that I can hear the Beatles as nature intended. Naked indeed!!
