Very interesting on two new upcoming offerings from MoFi. Look forward to reading/hearing more. MasterDeck: Reference turntable from MoFi - Tech Reviews
I believe the platter is shaped like the Spiral Groove tables. I would think Alan Perkins is still on board with the MoFi design team. Nice look and I do prefer this location for the power button.
Michael Fremer has a section on the table with Allen Perkins and preamp with Peter Madnick in his Munich coverage on youtube, goes into quite a bit of detail on the designs ... sounds and looks like a really nice products, but hard to see $6000 in the table ... you have to go to 1:14:38, unfortunately this site doesn't handle any of the youtube link options ...
Fremer review of the MasterPhono here I think the feature set looks well thought out. Anybody auditioned one? I am really interested in the preamp... Maybe from the used market in 5-10 years since it's a bit out of my affordability factor at the moment.
Nice. If I knew a Mofi dealer I liked I'd think about it. The New MasterDeck Turntable from MoFi Electronics Has Arrived - Twittering Machines
There was a thread about it and the new phono preamp with pictures over a year and a half ago when it was announced, sure took a long time to get here ... New MoFi MasterDeck and MasterPhono
Interesting. Can definitely see Allen Perkins design here a lot more than the Studio Deck and Ultra Deck.
Anyone who has been able to experience the MasterPhono already? Do you know of any user reviews online?
Audio Advice, doing a run through of all the features if anyone is interested. The tone arm looks particularly cool with removable headshell and a neat way to do azimuth. I actually find it kind of disappointing that it doesn't come with a dust cover like all their other tables do ~ as the shape of it makes it look as if it could have been easily done IMO.
