Yep - that's a good point, they could have done that quite easily. As for the Substance box - not sure how many of that they'd sell - given the number of singles comps that have been done already. But, then there are certainly the True Faith/Touched/BM88 singles that came between Brotherhood and Technique that don't logically fit with either album in a boxset
I'm not sure how the licensing works. But already putting them on the deluxe versions of the albums, means they didn't want to duplicate those tracks again, i think. later -1
I notice that this set has appeared on Amazon UK. No pre order link yet, just a picture of the box cover. I did a wee search and on Amazon Italy it's also there, with a release date of Friday Jan 24th and a price of £118. I guess it can't be too far away from being announced.
Tracklisting here? New Order / Power, Corruption & Lies Definitive Edition (Boxset) / Купить на POPmarket.ru. Заказать диск с доставкой.
Yeah, that looks identical to the tracklisting from the original poster on the first page. Guess that'll be it right enough.
Do we think the Barcelona Studio 54 show from 1984 will make it onto the Low Life Definitive, or has it missed the boat?
Well it was after PCL came out and before Low Life, but as the set was mostly PCL songs and nothing from Low Life was played, I'd say it's unlikely to be on the Low Life deluxe
Indeed it is - one of my favourite NO bootlegs. My suspicion would be that they are looking to release stuff that hasn't been widely bootlegged before though - I guess we'll see
Just seen on the NOOL forum that a poster who has been working on the boxset has confirmed another delay as a date of March had been published somewhere (Mojo?)
On his Instagram live cast this afternoon, Hooky stated there were problems with the set, which have now been ironed out, and the set will now go ahead as planned.
Thanks. I don't know much about Instagram. Isn't it a photo and video sharing website? What is this live cast? An interview? An ask me anything type situation? Do other musicians do them on Instagram? Without having an account it seems you can't get far. Looking at the track list I noticed - John Peel Session Outtake 11. Too Late (instrumental rough mix) I can't recall seeing a John Peel session outtake ever by any group. I wonder if the group contacted the BBC about it or if they had it themselves.
They haven't released/announced anything from 1984 yet. The Thieves Like Us mix is an early version, and, if I recall correctly TLU was birthed around the same time as Confusion in 1983.
It was a live stream of Hooky and his son, viewers of the stream could ask questions to Hooky. And yes you need an Instagram account. One of the questions was related to the PCL box set. And that’s when he confirmed what was happening.
Also, the recent Q and A, with Stephen Morris, he also addressed that the boxset will be delayed without any current date for release. later -1
As best I recall, New Order recorded and produced the seesion themselves, they didn't go to the BBC studios, so it's quite probable there are outtakes.
