As much as I love my MFSL Dillard & Clark CD, I’ll be doing the same when/if the announcement occurs.

    THANK YOU GUYS!

Haight will be happy to hear Iv'e actually got requests on some titles not available on vinyl, that would be SACD only. And they're instant yes from me, so if they say yes these will happen.

Wow. Thank you guys for policing the joint while I'm away packing and shipping Church albums!

Weird what people take time out of their lives to post. Sad that trying to generate negative attention is all some people have.

Generating some empathy over here, but also glad to not see more of this!

    Nice one!

What the hell. We're in tape research but my confidence that D&C will happen is sky high!

The Judee Sill SACDs are also days away from being announced!

I'd be ecstatic to hear Intervention do those Dillard & Clark albums, especially if their couple of stray single tracks can somehow be folded in!

Can you point me to these?

Tough to keep it analog because extras are not usually on the stereo masters.

Yeah, there's a cover of Elvis' "Don't Be Cruel" and 2 songs ("Lyin' Down the Middle" and "Why Not Your Baby") that were all originally on non-album singles. I have an 80s Edsel issue of "Fantastic Adventures" that adds them (Dillard & Clark – The Fantastic Expedition Of Dillard & Clark (1986, Vinyl) ), but not in great sound quality (they may have been needle drops). I think they were also included in a 2-fer CD release of both albums. I know nothing of the status of the tapes on those.

Not sure if this will help but the most recent CD reissues of the Fantastic Expedition and Through the Morning Through the Night added three songs that were issued as sides of singles for Fantastic Expedition but not included on the album proper: Why Not Your Baby, Lyin' Down The Middle (Both written-By – Gene Clark) & Otis Blackwell’s Don’t be Cruel. I don’t believe that there were any non-album tracks issued as singles for Through the Morning Through the Night.

    Sooooo ...

Little Feat might be available to me for SACD release and perhaps 2x 45 RPM vinyl. Looks like 33s are tied up.

I consider the latter to be a little sketchy given they'd have to be $55-$60 with the way costs are now.

I do have half a mind to try Dixie Chicken on 45s, thoughts?

For SACDs, do Kevin Gray remastered of these make sense to you?

Very much so. Why stop at Dixe Chicken. Any of the classic albums would be welcone on LP and SACD by me. As I said earlier, go ahead and take my money. I’m a willing victim. :D

Thanks- I'm being more specific here- would you do $60 each for Double 45s on vinyl?

Are there any other credible CD remasters that would make you pause on the Little Feat catalog?

Comment on Dixie Chicken. Known as one of the worst MFSLs. Don't know why. I don't think mine sounds too bad. I would like to see you do Last Record Album, but I would be in for any Feat!

Little Feat on SACD would be great.

Not a huge fan of 45 RPM albums spread across multiple discs in general so I'm wary of IR going down the pathway forged by 1-steps etc. I think I've expressed this stance before on this thread, but since you brought it up again... ;-)

Regarding Kevin Gray, his digital work during the Audio Fidelity years underwhelmed me, but his work on vinyl (Blue Note, etc.) has impressed me.

Ryan Smith is probably the audiophile-mastering-safest-bet these days, but it seems that secret is out, and I'm guessing you're asking about Gray because Smith is hard to get now?

Mobile Fidelity did Little Feat, Sailin’ Shoes, Dixie Chicken and Waiting For Columbus on Gold Disc a few years ago, if that makes any difference.
These are the only versions I know so can’t say if they’re good or bad compared to the alternatives

Shane ANY chance for The New York Dolls-Self Titled or Too Much Too Soon ?

would buy BOTH SACD and 2 -45 RPM lps in a heartbeat!

Sorry, just should have said “YES” to a $60 price in a double 45 mastered by Kevin and would pay the price for an SACD of those titles as while MFSL did most of the core Little Feat titles on CD, I always felt like there was a lot of room for improvement.

And Speakers Corner did Dixie Chicken and Time Loves A Hero with the latter being cut by Kevin Gray (2018).
2X45 solves that issue, but yes, recent good remasters are out there.
