Pretty much spot on. Except for season 1, I don't know if it was ever great. But I've grown to sort of like this family. Frank with the garden shears... and Frank hiding from the police with the stolen good(s) provided a satisfactory Gallagher ending.

Kassidi was THE most unpleasant character this show has ever had. That's saying a lot considering... Monica

Being a Chicagoan, does any of what this show does resonate with you?

Not really. Not as much as you might think. As it isn't really the life I've lived. In fact, I see how much of it is NOT Chicago in a lot of the details. Some outdoor scenes are clearly filmed with the Chicago skyline set in the background. But some of the small details they get wrong consistently. Example... before there were beepers and cell phones making this necessary, the primary area code in Chicago was 312. Many of the storefront signs on this show have a phone number with the area code 213 (Los Angeles). Close... But not the same. Small detail. But one that gets noticed. Unlike Showtime's The Chi. Which seems to get everything right. From the grocery stores they shop in, the brand of milk they drink in school, even the high school conferences the local basketball teams play in.

Without her..the show is a shell of itself. That is a real shame.

Oh no. She is the main Gallagher.

@Chris from Chicago - ya know I'm still proud of how ER mentioned Gladstone bakery twice in 15 seasons. From 1958-1968, we could walk from our Magnet Ave. home to that bakery, and it'll always be a warm memory.

That's awesome. I love when they get the little things right.

There was a show on Showtime based in Chicago called the Chi recently. They got all of the details right. From the potato chips (Vitners) to the brand of milk served in schools (Lucerne).

    It felt like Chicago

Inspired me to go to one of her nude poses. God bless her, I love an actress that has no problem sharing the beauty she has, with the rest of us, who truly appreciate it.

I know my post might seem comically sexist and objectifying, but let me also say that what she did to bring the idea of pay equality to the forefront in an industry that seems reticent to embrace it was amazing. She's also directed a few episodes. It doesn't hurt that she's hot :righton:.

We knew it couldn't last...but I figured Frank would go first...I'm curious how they will deal with this, both on AND off the show...Debs will now be the momma!

I'm confused... Just saw a commercial for the new Shameless season and Fiona is prominently featured? Any sources to Emmy leaving?

There are so many ways the writers could take Season 10 and beyond...Emma Kenney is only 18...so maybe the show has a LOT of life left in it.

Predictions...? At the end of Season 10...one of the Gallaghers is on the phone with someone (Fiona, maybe?)...they're in tears...and that's the final scene of that season - a short, phone call to Fiona (who isn't shown) to inform her that Frank has died...thus, a perfect segue into Season 11...
    Too soon to speculate?

Thanks for the clarification. Part of me thinks they should end the show, given she is the key character. But still plenty of great characters and actors to make for a great show without her. And her leaving could be a very realistic development in the show, if handled properly (which I'd expect given the high quality of this show).

Well... you can't judge a show based on the strength or weakness of one episode. But after the S9 EP1... this show is weak. Maybe it's been weak for a while. But without improvement... i'm bailing.
