    Some people are brutal.

He sounds fine on that Christmas song.

How many of you can sing better than him ? How many of you will sound as good as him at 70 ?

    Jeez.

The replacement green vinyl looks much better. Lighter green and nice marbling.

This is how I prefer to listen to the album:

    1 No Erasin’
    8 Easy to Love
    4 No More Cryin’
    6 Sun Shines Gray
    3 Most of All

    12 Angel Eyes
    2 We’re Still Here
    5 In the Rain
14 Could We Be Somethin’ Again
    7 You Belong to Me

I like that. Next time I listen to Traces I will give your order a try.

I need to go back and re-spin this album (I sort of moved on from it shortly after its release). That said, I still think the weakest track is "No Erasin'," which ironically was the lead-off, promotional single.

    Not me
I think I was too critical
    My bad
I just wish he had fixed the parts that need fixing, but I agree nice of him to do that for us.

    Same
I’m still playing Traces on a regular basis.
5 months on. The only song I skip including the bonus tracks would be I Need You.
2 stand out songs still would be In The Rain and You Belong To Me
The bonus tracks grew on me so I enjoy them now.

I frequently skip "October In New York". I actually love the song, but it in no way fits the flow of the album regardless of which track order you devise.

    Yeah I can understand that.
That track is made for a future album of Sinatra type music.
    Perry does Sinatra.

    None of us.

But also no one sounds good singing Christmas songs.

If the album was gonna be a little less ballad-y and a little more uptempo (that doesn't mean Journey-clone hard rock, just something more lively), then yes. Otherwise I'd rather go see him live, since I was too young to see him back in the day.

I was lucky enough to see him in '94 from up close. For posterity, I want another album that will live forever, and like you, I want some more groove and rock.

I was 13 at the time, so...i missed my opportunity.

I'm happy Traces exists, and that he's still here singing for us in 2019, but another identical album of almost all ballads like Traces or Strange Medicine wouldn't get much play from me.

I understand that POV. It just seems like he would be a grudging participant in any touring. I don't want him doing something his heart isn't into. Albums last forever. Even if Traces was too mellow, it still has some great moments. I am sure a follow up LP would as well.

Of course not. But I assume if he did, it'd be because he wanted to. As we've learned over the last 25 years, Steve Perry is a guy who doesn't have to do a damn thing, and shows it.

Steve made a music video for Were Still Here.
Surprised he didn’t have them prepped already for the album release last October.
According to the press it’s his first music video since When You Love A Woman, however that is incorrect because he made one for I Stand Alone In 1998.
I would still like to see him release In The Rain with a cool music video, but I highly doubt that will happen now.

Steve also did an interview with Dan Rather that will premiere the new season of The Big Interview on AXS TV in April. Will be interested in seeing if there’s anything new since he last was interviewed when his album came out last fall. Maybe he’ll be questioned about performing publicly.

I’ll be surprised if he reveals anything else. His narrative seems well rehearsed.
