I have original SOE and LS as well as the plentiful and wonderful sounding COS. But I'd still be interested in new issues if they sounded great and/or had extra tracks. Double 45rpm pressings sound very interesting to me :)

Count me in there! Can't believe I thought they were one-hit wonders all these years.

...when they were in the same sort of catagory as Kajagoogoo and Duran Duran...but a lot less handsome!
Amazon uk also mentions the 2LP rerelease, but only of The Spirit of Eden and with even a more bewildering tracklist!

Beginning from catalogue number "CENT21" (Bowie's "Hunky Dory" by the way) they were cut analogue from analogue tapes. Some of the releases are fantastic some less so. Never heard "The Colour Of Spring" but it is supposed to be one of the lesser releases in this series!

...GOOD NEWS!!! (And on topic too! ;))
I got this answer when I posted a question on the Amazon uk-site:
    Paul says:
...and quite an interesting last bit; ''upadated artwork directed by Mark Hollis"; is/was he involved in these re-releases?!?

I'm psyched!!! Hopefully EMI will be getting these right. Not to thread crap, but they are also reissuing the 8 EMI-era Marillion albums on vinyl this year, and have claimed they are all being sourced from the analog masters.

Also, about the EMI100 series, I remember reading somewhere (here probably) that the Thick as a Brick reissue sounded quite good and was a second alternative to the original UK Porky.

It would be great if he gave us some written liner notes about the songs, recordings, and his take on them now. Sort of like what The Edge and Marty Wilson-Piper have done for the U2 and Church reissues.

    G'day,

It seems the DVD with the hi-res digital is limited to the vinyl version only. I wonder if it might be bundled with the CD one day?

It looks like the other two albums (with the CoS and SoE) are released on the same day. What I guess for now it's really the '97 remaster with another 'packaging' of sorts.

Maybe some live material or studio sessions for Spirit will follow.

I'm bored with these analogue/digital bundles as well. Downloads are fine but I really don't need a DVD with a vinyl album.

Well, my advice would be that you don't buy it (you don't HAVE to) or give away the DVD.
The price so far seems to be fine for a 180gram-LP alone, by the way. (But maybe some music lovers are bored easily;)).

You ARE right of course. But I'm perplexed that they always bundle analogue with digital. Take the new boxset of Jethro Tull's "Aqualung". I'd be interested in hearing the Wilson-Remix but... if you want the vinyl you have to buy a rather expensive box. OK... that is off topic ;-)

As for Talk Talk: I'm glad that they finally rerelease this stuff.

I got no response from EMI yet concerning Talk Talk.

I think it's a bit of a shame that "John Cope" or "It's Getting Late in the Evening" ar both extras on the DVD's; I hoped they would be on vinyl too! Maybe I'll look out for "Evening" on an original 45rpm 12" (B-side of Life's What You Make It)...

    Party's Over - It's My Life:
Deluxe Edition cd including 192khz/24bit stereo mix on dvd. Otherwise I see no reason to re-buy them for the third time.

Maybe high resolution Talk Talk-downloads at HDTracks?
