I have both Wet cleaned New Vinyl and just Dry cleaned with use of a microfiber brush, with mixed results, what do most people do?

Wet dry. Especially if they come in standard paper sleeves; they're usually littered with bits of paper, dust and all sorts of debris. I find it really annoying how dirty most of the new vinyl I purchase is, even from premium plants like Pallas.

I wet clean them with my Loricraft RCC before first play then dry clean before subsequent plays. Once cleaned I place them in Mofi inner sleeves if they come in cardboard or paper sleeves that could scratch the LP.

This is a very good machine, and it probably does not cause static like some machines?

    What's Dry cleaning vinyl?
That doesn't make any sense to me, all records new, old, washed or otherwise need a dust brushing before you cue down on the record

Wet clean. To be fair, before I play it I make sure it’s dry.

Dry cleaning with a microfiber brush as opposed to wet cleaning on a RCM or spinclean when New

What is a microfiber brush? Do you even know what you are talking about? I have used all kinds of brushes to clean vinyl. I have never seen anything made of microfiber. Carbon fiber yes. Microfiber, nope never seen it.

Wet clean all vinyl new or used, and never have to think about it. Stylus drops on nothing but fresh grooves.

What do you clean them on? A RCM or Spin Clean of some description,is there any static noise after cleaning them? I've had an OKKI Nokki which produced static a lot. Thinking about upgrading to a better machine

Do you wet clean on a RCM or Spin Clean, I am currently using an OKKI NOKKI but want to try a spin clean

Removing dust on a record is not cleaning, it's dusting.

As a general rule I don't wash new records unless they give me a reason to be washed. Old records get washed either in my Ultrasonic tank or on my Oki Noki, but sometimes they are like new and don't need it.

All records get dry dusted on the table prior to playing with a discwasher and a Furutech SK III carbon brush. Lots of old records are like new, only needing a little SK III action

I’ve an Okki Nokki and if I get static build up during cleaning it’s me doing something wrong and not the machine. If you know how to handle a RCM properly you don’t get any problems with static build up.

I agree with 4-2-7; carbon fiber record brushes are used for dusting and nothing else. Cleaning a record is something that demands more from the record owner.

Why would you want to try a spin clean if you already have a ON RCM ?

No static whatsoever after cleaning. The nylon brush that came with the machine to spread the fluid and the nylon thread used on the suction arm do not build any static. The static that I see sometimes is from pulling the records out of some inner sleeves that are static magnets.

Wet clean on a VPI mostly to keep the static down.

I use a small amount of dishwashing detergent in luke warm distilled water. I give them a wipe with a micro fibre cloth and let them air dry upright on a rack. Works fine. Vinyl records are not as fragile as some would have you believe.

Isn't dusting a form of cleaning?

I like the bath idea of a spin clean when it is submerged in water also cheaper.A vacuum suction arm can be made to fit a shop vac wet/dry vacuum cleaner
