A couple of cheap ones I find fairly often are:

    The Call- Modern Romans
Adam And The Ants- Kings of the Wild Frontier
    The Human League- Dare
    Shriekback- Big Night Music

Another one of my favorites is the masterpiece that is The Pop Group- Y, which is a mix of Postpunk, Avantgarde Funk, And Experimental

Echo & the Bunnymen - their first four albums, all amazing in their own way
    Gang of Four - Entertainment
Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance, Dub Housing, and their early singles were post-punk before punk even happened!
Elvis Costello - This Year's Model, Armed Forces, Get Happy, Trust
The Fall - Hex Enduction Hour, Our Nation's Saving Grace, Bend Sinister
Xtc - Drums & Wires, Black Sea, English Settlement
Mission of Burma - Signals, Calls & Marches, Vs.
Siouxsie & the Banshees - Juju, Kaleidoscope
The Jam - All Mod Cons, Setting Sons, Sound Affects

I'm sure that I'll come up with more! This is one of my favorite eras for music.

Signals Calls and Marches, Vs. and the live Horrible Truth are essential, but what's cool about Burma is that after a 22 year break they picked up in 2004 where they left off in 1982 and put out 4 more remarkable albums.

As an Austin record monger, I (hopefully) resemble that remark :D Having said that, 80s UK stuff in general (not just goth) is hard to come by, unless you're willing to pay out the nose for a reissue.

As a former goth in high school in the 80s, I'd say the obvious: The Cure, Bauhaus, Siouxsie. The first Gene Loves Jezebel (Promise) is shockingly dark and relatively unknown. After this they lightened up considerably and became more of a glam thing, which is also pretty great but not what I'd call goth.

The Mission. Not as theatrical as others, but more Goth in the literal (pre-music) sense. Although as the product of a short lived Sisters of Mercy lineup, they've definitely got the pedigree.

Both are a bit closer to proto-90’s alt rock, but there are post-punk/darkwave vibes with both of them
