Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds released a new live ep, Distant Sky (Live In Copenhagen) on Friday. Good review from Drowned in Sound below; Ep Review: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Distant Sky: Live in Copenhagen / Releases / Releases // Drowned In Sound Anyone buy it yet?
The Boatman's Call is probably my most important album, ever. This week, while listening to St. Vincent's Masseduction, I heard these lines... "Smilin' nihilist met Angry glass half full Drinkin' Manic Panic Singin' Boatman's Call..." I love her.
Love the lyrics in this song. I just picked up Grinderman a few weeks ago. This song in particular sticks in my head.

Very cool! Cheers for the update. Any idea if Distant Sky is going to get a dvd or bluray release? It's driving me nuts
I was at this show in question. While this is exciting news I do feel like it's getting drummed up a little bit out of proportion. Nick said that the album was at a stage where he and the band could recognise that all the songs are really strong, and now is the time where they can start laying down extra bits to the arrangements. I could very well be wrong, but I got the impression that reading between the lines it may be another 12 months before a new release.
Yea it didn't even come out anywhere I could get to. It would seem silly to go to the trouble of filming it so well and not release it.
attended the last two tours here in ny which were much different than the previous times i have seen them play, the bad seeds are one of the best live bands i have ever seen and the movie really captured the feeling of the live events very well thanks again for the link, the announcement only appeared in my inbox this morning, i'll probably watch it again
