Here's the top 10 I wrote out a few years ago: 1. Sad Waters 2. Mercy 3. Oh My Lord 4. The Mercy Seat 5. Lay Me Low 6. When I First Came to Town 7. Lime Tree Arbor 8. The Weeping Song 9. Loom of the Land 10. Papa Won't Leave You Henry I don't know his past decade's work as well as I should however.
That's an amazing list of pre Lyre/Abbatoir songs. I'm inclined to jumble the order and make a playlist of those.
Fave NC&tBS pre 1990 songs: The Weeping Song Slowly Goes the Night Knockin on Joe Deanna The Ship Song Up Jumped the Devil Your Funeral My Trial Stranger Than Kindness Tupelo From Her to Eternity
Yes, I listen almost exclsuively to his 80s music, the popularity of his recent material confuses me.
My favourites has been The Firstborn and Henry's Dream. However Your Funeral and Tender Prey are close behind. The later one used to be favourite for a long time.
Yea, I'm not interested in streaming much. I saw the show, and I'd like to have it... but I'm guessing I'm not going to get it
Interesting perhaps to some people, certainly to me Nick Cave on the new Bad Seeds album – and the chances of more from Grinderman
I heard this interview a few days ago. The thing, is The Bad Seeds have never really made a purely “rock ‘n roll” album. The closest they’ve come to classic rock would be Henry’s Dream or Let Love in. But even those couldn’t be compared to what most people associate with pure rock music , like The Stones or Led Zeppelin. Nick has always had a way of deconstructing various styles of music and reconstructing them through his (or The Bad Seeds’) vision. That’s what makes Nick Cave so intriguing, I think.
