Nicolas Cage.....why does a talented actor, who had a promising start end up acting in B movies.

that requires a large operating expense account. That is a lot of material wealth.
I liked the lord of war movie I think it was called about weapons dealers.

Moronic thread as Cage does really great B movies and I’m sure he has had much fun doing them.

Kiss of the vampire. Awesome movie is that good enough for you? Stupid thread that he should have done better high brow movies.

    1) The movie is "Vampire's Kiss"
    2) The movie came out 32 years ago when Cage was still on the rise. This thread's about all the direct-to-video crap he's made in much more recent times.

Lighten up - I went off memory and not google search. It is a b movie if there ever was one. Read the title.

I’ve never cared for your correcting posts anyhow. Now ignored.

I think he's at the point in his career where he can pick & choose what to do & still get decent money to do it. Big blockbuster movies involve traveling & being away from home for uncertain lengths of time so it may be just that he wants to be home more often. He can still make enough to be happy.

  12. I just watched that last night. I enjoyed it but I thought the one bit of over-the-top Cage-ness (when he freaked out in the car) seemed too obvious, like the director said "all right Nic, we need some stereotypical raging Cage for the trailer so please give me about 40 seconds of crazy Cage" and Nic said okay, sat down in the car, turned on crazy Cage for 40 seconds then turned it off and then went back to sipping his latte.
Other than that, I thought it was a movie definitely worth watching.

So I see that a new awful Nic Cage movie, `Color Out Of Space', has
just bowed on Netflix. What more could a man possibly want?

sure but doing the cheap stuff means he has to film a lot more movies than if he made i blockbuster like the old days

Not one of his B-movies, but thought I'd post it anyway... the line about turning "the Bay Area into the Bay Area" made me chuckle.

He spent like a drunken sailor on leave and then he needed big $$, so he signed up for anything with a large paycheck. I liked him a lot in Moonstruck also.

When an actor plays himself, his movies become about seeing the actor in the role
