There was a thread that wanted to know about 10 mins + songs, but I would like to know ones that are between 7-10 minutes only.
I know the most of the populat 7 min songs, but I'll just let everyone else list them.

Same rules apply: pop, rock or soul. No genres like jazz, country, classical, unless they are cross-overs. Also no live concert songs (overdubs don't count either) or extended dance versions. Try to list artists who have had some hit songs or albums, nothing too obscure.

Richard Harris: "Mac Arthur Park". Wonderful kitsch; great drums by Hal Blaine, incredible Jimmy Webb imagery. One listen and you're right back in the summer of '68....

This is the correct answer. All other 7-10 minute songs cower pathetically at the feet of Mr. Young's masterpiece, sobbing quietly and mumbling "we are not worthy".

However, I do also quite like:

    James Brown: Cold Sweat
Bob Dylan: Stuck Inside of Mobile
    Fairport Convention: Sloth

A few more in the 6+ min. range:

    Rock Lobster - The B-52's (6:49)
How Soon Is Now? - The Smiths (6:45)
    Let There Be Rock - AC/DC (6:12)
Blasphemous Rumours - Depeche Mode (6:21)
Mistral Wind (LP version) - Heart (6:43)

    More over 7 min.:

    Abacab - Genesis (7:02)
    Hydra - Toto (7:31)
Just The Two Of Us - Grover Washington Jr. (7:23) (jazz crossover)
Feels So Good - Chuck Mangione (9:47) (another jazz crossover)

I know this doesn't count, but there was actually a 12" single remixed long version of "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" (as if the original wasn't long enough) that clocked in at 11:44.

I won't delve too much on in the 5-6 min. range, but since Bill brought up my all time favorite group in his list, Heart...

    Even it Up (5:13)
    Dog & Butterfly (5:19)
    Little Queen (5:13)
    Straight On (5:10)
    Desire Walks On (5:04)
    Rockin' Heaven Down (5:55)

And you would have to count "Heart of Glass (Disco Version)" by Blondie because it did appear on the LP in the full 5:48 time
