Revolver is my choice, too. It may have been equaled in quality a few times but no one has ever made a BETTER album, including the Beatles themselves.

There's nothing objectively about what I think.

I agree that Revolver is the most complete and accomplished album I know. It has the perfect balance of popular appeal and innovation/ avantgardism

I never listen to the jams, just the songs. I think of all that Side 5 & 6 stuff as "bonus tracks". In my world, All Things is immaculate.

Imperial Bedroom is a genuinely great album…maybe EC’s best album. Unfortunately, I also think it was his last “great” album.

Today? "Tattoo You" by The Rolling Stones. Strictly objectively speaking of course. :pineapple:

I'll entertain alternatives for the particular recording/artists, but the piece itself is indisputably monumental. Objectivity/subjectivity arguments aside, this is a work of importance.

Pop: Gold (ABBA). This to me is the purest of pop, the 24-karate, the Mauna Kea dare I say it.

Rock: The Stones aren't even my favorite band (Or second favorite, or third... ) but I think it might be Exile On Main Street because it's just so strong. It's not even my favorite album of theirs.

Can't speak for any other gendres.

If we ask enough people, is there any album that isn't objectively the best album of all time?

This is kind of similar to the thread asking for the most perfect album of all time, which I approached as objectively as possible, removing my own biases as much as I could when thinking of a candidate. Which is all I can do, I'm not so arrogant as to think I know the answer to this largely un-answerable question.

So its going to be the same answer I gave in that previous thread. Supertramp's Crime Of The Century. If someone asked me to list my favorite albums, it probably wouldn't break my top 5, but damn if it isn't a stellar album that hits a lot of the right notes.

    Short answer:

I tried and tried. Thought about the desert island thing, which album would you want etc. etc. I just can't single out one collection of music. Makes my brain hurt to even think about "The BEST" I think the idea of an all time favorite is ludicrous! LOL

Eclectic list, that's for sure. I'd rate fourteen of them at 4/5 or higher.
