Nah, it's just that few people want to share their treasured possessions, as that was always the mentally of it, i.e. painfully shy and/or somewhat cliquey.

and non-coldwave, Rowland S. Howard (of Birthday Party) had a disjointed (and sadly short) career compared to Nick Cave:

New Jersey band that lasted thru the late 70’s to the mid 80’s at least. They were friends of the Mutha Records punk scene centered around clubs like the Brighton Bar and 95 West and label owner Mark Chesley who was a roadie for Suicide.

Lucky Pierre was active until the 80’s. Trent Reznor was a member for a bit plus the guy who formed Pigface and brought some Lucky Pierre songs into Pigface

Lucky Pierre - Into My Arms

This early 1980s band was mind-blowingly good. They had had some music out on a Sub Pop cassette compilation #5 and a single on a Chicago label. They were post-punk, proto Goth.

    Raymilland - "Talk".

The Raisins - "Fear Is Never Boring" This band from Cincinnati was great but never quite managed to break big. Later, they lost a member, picked up Adrian Belew, changed their name to The Bears and did get a little airplay but nothing huge, they even re-recorded this song as The Bears but the new version was, well, rather boring.

What a rocking Young Gods track. And the fact that The Young Gods influence not just many industrial bands but even metal and rock artists. Heck, even David Bowie was influenced by them in his album, Outside, rather than Nine Inch Nails.

    Unseen Terror - Human Error

This is one of the first albums ever released by Earache Records and one of the more obscure thrashy grindcore releases at the time before being eclipsed by the likes of Napalm Death and Repulsion. Lyrics are kind of corny (Garfield For President, yes, that Garfield the Cat) but the music rocks. I managed to score the original LP for $20 on eBay some years ago.
