IMDB says it's David Nelson son of Ozzie and Harriet. Tommy Chong strongly resembles New Riders' David Nelson though, with the full black beard and headband!
I trust Michael more than I trust IMDB which is often wrong. IMDB thought middle-aged Billy Mitchell from "The Bank Dick" was the same a Billy Mitchell the sax player who would have been a young teen when the movie was made.
Doesn't he play "Frog", the guy at the very beginning playing that Henry Gibson patriotic song? He's kinda the default "backing" guy on guitar who never says a word. Jeff Goldblum never says a word, either, and is considered "the observer" according to Robert Altman.
I didn't go through the whole thread, but Paul Reubens played a waiter in "The Blues Brothers" before he became Pee Wee Herman.
Reubens also has a small role in Midnight Madness (1980), which was one of those films HBO ran endlessly (it seemed at the time) in the early 80s.
In the film Anatomy of a Murder, James Stewart plays a lawyer. In one scene, he goes into a bar one evening. There's a small five piece jazz group playing, the pianist is Duke Ellington. He's not listed in the end credits, but is in the film's page on IMDb.
Yes. But the question was about "Odd Cameos" which I answered, blink and some viewers would have missed it. He was a named character, but wasn't mentioned in the cast list at the end of the film.
In the movie The Hunter, Steve McQueen played bounty hunter Ralph "Papa" Thorson. The real Ralph "Papa" Thorson played a bartender.
I don't know if music videos or TV shows count, but here are a couple. In Peter Gabriel's video for "The Barry Williams Show", the Barry Williams who played Greg Brady in The Brady Bunch is one of the audience members. In the Prime Video show Alpha House, Bradley Whitford plays a meek, moderate politician that gets dressed down at a GOP retreat by aggressive, ultra right-wing Senator Peg Stanchion, played by Janel Moloney. It's a role reversal from the characters that they played in The West Wing.
