Guys, Are there any Profondo Rosso tracks on Goblin Volume II - 1975-1980 (DRG 32923) which are not on 2CD version of Profondo Rosso (CD OST 701)?
I should be able to tell you the answer down to the last detail, but since that 2CD Profondo Rosso was released after I calmed down on my Goblin geekiness, I can't really say for sure. However, my gut feeling is that every piece of music made it to that 2CD set. I certainly didn't notice anything missing. The only difference could be a slight edit if even that. For example, the DRG version of "La Via Della Droga" has Marangolo counting off the track while this was edited out of the full soundtrack release.

I have a Goblin CD (Cinevox, I believe) that has not been mentioned here. It is half Zombi and half Tenebre (perhaps my favorite giallo). Rare? Not? If anyone here would like, I can scan it when I get home from work.
That is fairly rare although not scarce. It was out in the '90s and was one of the first Goblin CDs I owned. For some inexplicable reason it is missing tracks from each soundtrack, and it has a radically different mastering of each score than other CDs put out around the same time. There was no LP release that I know of, so I'm thinking its ~40-minute run time was mostly for the purpose of its corresponding cassette release.
Though it's not quite as exciting as other Goblin scores, it is atmospheric. It disappointed me the first time I heard it but I've really come to like it. Not sure why Cinevox felt the need to include "Snip Snap" from ROLLER on here as it isn't even in the film. An alternate take of another track from the film would have fit better. They also included their single "Yell" made for a TV programme on this LP right after including it on their previous release, AMO NON AMO. This album sounds best on its original vinyl incarnation which is sadly not cheap in excellent condition these days. The stereo tape has deteriorated over time resulting in tape drag heard on both CDs referenced here.
Anima Morte , just found out about these guys http://www.animamorte.com/ http://soundcloud.com/animamorte
Damn I missed this wonderful thread. I should pay better attention. What is exactly that 17 tracks Zombie CD I see listed, with some bonus alternate takes ?
If you're a big fan of their music for the film, then you should consider getting this disc. Goblin provided much more music for the film than what made it onto the original LP, and the rest is included on that CD. The major highlight for me was finally getting to hear the full "fast" version of the theme which is played over the opening credits in all versions of the film. This is definitely one of the best "Complete Edition" CDs that Cinevox released in terms of the value of its bonus tracks.
I bought the live CD but actually haven't listened to it yet. Considering Goblin is my favorite group, I guess that says something. In this case, it really just says that I know exactly what to expect. I'll be popping in the live DVD as soon as I can though once I receive it. The "Official Bootleg" thing kinda bothers me. I hope it looks and sounds decent.
For those of you who love the Roller album, imagine how much better it would be if this track (supposedly titled "Cold Summer") was released on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC4Zc1DWJEo According to one member of the band, they never recorded it in the studio which is a shame. Would have been a nice closer to Side 1 with "Il Risveglio Del Serpente" being moved to open Side 2. Anyway, the above link is from one of only two tapes to surface of Goblin's '75/'76 tour.
