Oh Canada! (music I have loved)

Cohen, the Cowboy Junkies, 54-40, Sloan, the Weakerthans, and Lowest of the Low, just off the top of my head, would be my favourite Canadian acts. I love selected albums by the Guess Who and Rush as well (big fan of early Rush, not so much of the synth pop they started pushing in the ‘80s). The last concert I went to — which was also my daughter’s first — was Spirit of the West and Blue Rodeo. I’ve actually seen BR and the Weakerthans twice each. There were many more bands I loved when I was in college in Hamilton in the mid-‘90s. THAT was a great time to be a young Canadian music fan!

 

It certainly is. Even better than ‘Starry,’ which was also quite good.

i actually found and bought this album used, SOMEwhere in toronto, in the 90's. just for the cover. i was pleasantly surprised by the tunes tho !
