I want to post bargains on ocassion for all of my friends here to be able to get at a decent price. It has been pointed out that on ocassion this screws up someone who has it on their watch list awaiting to snipe.

Let's talk about this because my intentions are only good and please explain fully why you voted the way you did. Thx.

IMO you should go ahead and continue to post. There will always be snipers. Many of us have our eBay handles listed here but with so many members and so many of them active eBayers it's just wide open. My two cents...

I think it's a nice thing to do, even though I don't usually bite. If more serious eBayers don't like that, if they think that bargains are being spoiled that way, that's fine. I just don't want to see them brag-posting about how great of a bargain they got later...:D

    Dave,
I appreciate your Ebay postings. Most of the time I'm too late to take advantage, but I have gotten a few good deals based upon your posts :righton:

Yes, sometimes they are BINs and we can just go get them. If we know they are there. If we don't, they most likely will not be there when we notice.

Most of what I buy at auction isn't something that is listed here anyway, so in that regard it doesn't affect me. But I do like getting heads-up on good deals, regardless.

I say keep it up, but keep the times short. In case someone here is watching the item the shorter time would limit the number of bids that could drive it up.

Heck, half the time I miss my own watched items. Last week I missed a DCC Queensryche $9.99 with shipping. Closed with no bids. Doh!

Of course it's interesting to see what's going on on ebay. My only wish was that the thread starter would include in his post (or better: in the title) what the item actually is. I do not like to read "hey, look what's on ebay!" and have to find out myself what's on ebay, even it is only one click away. So I'd rather prefer if someone would write: "hey look, there's (whatever it is) on ebay!" Then it's up to me if I want to look or not...
    thank you!

YES! Mostly because you cannot guaranty that the watching member is going to be the winning bidder, or will bid high enough!

Unless there is a deal between two snipers who will bid HUGE BUCKS, eBay "buddy deals" seem to never work out. There always seems to be a "non-buddy" who will screw it up!

I voted yes - keep posting them. I agree with pretty much everyone else that posting the eBay auction here is a good thing. The person who wins eBay auctions is ALWAYS the person who bid the most money - regardless of whether they sniped or not. I can't count the number of times I've watched an auction thinking I must be the only person in the world who would want that item - only to find out at the end of the auction that there were apparently plenty of people who wanted it MORE than I did. That's just eBay.

I don't know the answer. :realmad: TSmithPage is bidding on something I would like for my collection but I think I'll wait for another since I have a CDR of it to get me by.

I would say on any ebay item to bid your maximum if you really want the item. Alls fair in love and music.

By all means, Dave, please continue. I still try to help out and I know others do, too. There are few things more gratifying than when someone wins an item for a good price and says thanks for the tip.

    Dave -
I think my lamenting you outing the Elvis 24 Karat Hits I had on my radar was the reason for your poll here. Sorry man, It looks like I have caused you some unneccesay reflecting. I know that no matter what titles we post here, there are always many other people outside of the forum who will also be finding our gems - and will likely bid more for them. Please keep posting them here. I certainly will.

That being said, I agree with Ron and think it is absolutely essential for people to post the "Buy it Now's" that are flat out bargains as soon as you see one. (OK exceptions are made for those you really want :D ) I feel great when somone here snags one.

One thing I have noticed is that when I post something on the Everything Ebay forum page, it takes a long time before people look at - and very few people at that. It drives me crazy if I post a bargain BIN, and nobody has opened the thread. Everyone should be using the "New Threads" link at the top of the page. I just discovered it recently. Navigating through the different forums is a thing of the past for me.

One day it will be my turn to get a "fly like an eagle" DCC gold for cheap on a bin that I find here thanks to Dave.

Ok guys, I will continue then. Yes Rick, it was because I felt bad that I might have deprived you of obtaining it at a reasonable price that I wanted to see how everyone felt about this issue.

Clay, if I do see a low BIN for Fly Like An Eagle, it will be coming to my home as it's 1 of 2 DCC's I require to complete my DCC wants list. ;)

    Dave,

I also appreciate the links to eBay items that you think fellow forum members would be interested in bidding on. Please, keep up the good work.

Are you sure Dave I thought I only had a few more on my want list from DCC and when I get those I just find a few more I've got to have :) You know how it goes!

As for your question I think too you should post your finds especially the BIN stuff. There are so many snipers out there searching that even the stuff that is not correctly labeled still get a lot of snipes at the end. :realmad: oh well thats the game :D

I'd chime in yes as well. I think it's a great service for collectors and interested parties. I am a sniper, but if someone beats my price, I don't get lathered up about it. As someone smarter than I am wrote here a while back, patience is the ultimate virtue on eBay. At least, if someone here gets it, I know it's going to a great home. If it's the "Buy It Now" deal that has the snipers upset, that's a gamble, or not, that we all take in bidding.

    Write on, I say.

    Post 'em!

I actually participate on a forum that has a "no ebay post" rule so that it doesn't mess anyone up. And I HATE IT! Oftentimes there's some auction that I want opinions on, or want to share because it's such a bargain.

So, no, I will never support a rule here that puts limits on people posting ebay links.

Now all I have to do is to move into your time zone so I can snag a few..... :D
